Description

The goal is to create a nice clean build that I can put it next to my TV in the living room. We have a light furniture color scheme going on so I choose to go with white build to match everything else. I select ThermalTake P3, an open-air case, to show case the component parts.

I'm not a fan of RGB/LED but I don't want to miss out the trend either, so Avexir Raiden DDR4 with plasma light was selected to do the job. If touch the plasma tube with a finger it would react and try to reach the finger so going with an open-air case is a perfect match. I place a small RGB strip behind the HOF GTX1080 to give a backlight effect. In the attached photos the color is blue-ish but in reality it has more white color.

Noise is also an important factor. So every fans in the system are set to very low rpm in the idle mode.

I'm planning to replace the ThermalTake Water 3.0 with a custom loop build. Please comment if you have any idea or suggestion.

Honestly an amazing build. I have the same case, and you made one of the coolest builds with it that i've seen. However, on the part list is says you have a 240mm AIO, but the pictures are 360mm.

the fact that the fans on the video card and the radiator match is positively magical

deans4j submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

definitely, I will! I'm new to custom loop world. Still feeling nervous if I have to do it. I need to do lots of research before making the final decision. I'll pm you when I have a more concrete plan

Get the captain 240 sx in white

deans4j submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

To be honest the cpu cooler is the part that gave me the most headache. I want a 360 radiator and none of them in my market are white.

Why not go for the sabertooth? The titanium kind of looks a little out of place tbh, but those ek fans match so pefectly with the hof card

deans4j submitter 1 Build 1 point 25 months ago

thanks for the feedback. I prefer silver to go with the white, that's why Titanium was selected. The HOF card also has little silver on it.

Yes, I'm very happy with the fans. They are cool and quiet!

Did you have any issues receiving your GTX 1080 HOF from Galax? I ordered mine last week, and I haven't gotten a shipping confirmation email or anything. Did you have these issues?

deans4j submitter 1 Build 2 points 25 months ago

No, in fact in my country Galax has a proper distribruter. I order it online and it comes in less than 6 hours.

I hope you'll get yours soon.. I think you should give them a call/email.

sarevokgr 1 point 21 months ago

Is it in back order? Lots of their stuff is because of popularity. I ordered a 1070 Enoc snpr white three weeks ago and hasn't shipped yet. Emailed them two days ago and they told me another 1-2 weeks.

WOW

No offence but that 1200 watt PSU is overkill i would auggest reaplcing it with an 850 Watt

deans4j submitter 1 Build 1 point 18 months ago

I got it for very good price, 40% off, so why not. I bought it from someone online, it's unused. he got too many spares in his house.

high watt PSU is better than lower anyway in terms of efficiency rate. PC will only draw as much power from the power supply as needed, so my electric bill has not go crazy with this PSU.

Swapped out the 1200 watt PSU with a 450 watt Psu since i noticed your TDP was 405 watts Made sure the PSU was modular

Left rest of build intact

StormTroopers never hit anything in Star Wars. lol. Great build!

djzakflash 1 point 23 months ago

OK so maybe this is weird, and i dont particularly need the one or two i use now, but where do the disc drives go, primarily for installing the OS?

I just put together and ordered my 2nd dream build including this case, which is amazing and you really did it perfect btw, and it just hit me about the drives.

I see you got Microsoft Windows 10 Pro, so how did you install the OS to get it all running if i may ask?

*Sorry if i seem lost ive built tons of computers and used the disc to boot and then installed OS.

yobigd20 1 point 22 months ago

USB flash drives...

deans4j submitter 1 Build 1 point 18 months ago

m2 drive goes directly at the motherboard. The sata drive goes inside the P3 case, enough room for that. You must have got this case by the time I'm replying this.

now days people install new OS via USB man :D

KittehCat 1 point 22 months ago

Question..If you go with 2 SLI..can you still keep them mounted vertically? or not possible o.o

deans4j submitter 1 Build 1 point 18 months ago

not this model. I believe P5 can do that. P3 is too small

LeoLavi 1 point 16 months ago

@deans4j How'd you remove the logo from the case?

BenniTee 1 point 13 months ago

Gorgeous. rgb balanced. You should feel proud

Xx_DonutEater_xX 1 point 13 months ago
