Description

Built in April of 2015. Originally had my MSI R7950 from my previous build in her. I was planning on buying a 2nd to run dual GPU. Until the 980 TI came out. Couldn't pass that baby up, and bought that in September of the same year. OC'd hard since day 1. I think I made the right choice as running dual GPU has so many issues that go along with it, and the 980ti is still delivering 100+ FPS in most titles @ 1080P

This thing is a beast, and a beauty. Aged very well. Currently December 2019 building my new PC and she withstood all the abuse I threw at her for 4.5 years with grace and dignity. Well, no dignity I guess, she's never been dusted. Not even once.

I too got my MSI 980ti in 2015. Been boosted at 1435MHz every since Nov 2015. Rock solid MSI. But I bought it for 1440p 165Hz, and it has done well; but yes it is coming time too for upgrade. You can't wait for next summer? And as you said, SLI had too many issues; I had considered 2 x 970. So glad I didn't.

Yeah, hopefully the 3000 series is great.

Yeah this card has been an amazing one. Its unfortunate how their 5700 XT's seem to have ended up because I've been running strictly MSI cards for the last 10 years now and have enjoyed nothing but greatness from them.

Im really hoping Navi 2 comes out a bit earlier than summer. I cant wait til summer. I basically planned building my replacement for cyberpunk. April is my deadline to upgrade my GPU because of that. I already have all parts for my new build except the 3950x (due to shortages) and a GPU. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bRGDZf if interested in what I'm planning on doing.

Been on MSI too for last 8 yrs, with a short 1.5yrs of Sapphire in between it. MSI has just been too solid. I'm going to get next gen Ampere gpu with trifan. Can't wait to see what it looks like.

Yeah. Pretty much everything is much cheaper now when it comes to high end components.

Except GPUs. NVIDIA really ruined that.

Navi2 save us!
