Description

This was my first build, and I have yet to run into any problems yet - all of the hardware has worked perfectly, although i haven't overclocked any of it yet.

CPU - The 4690k has been more than enough for my gaming needs, and should last me a while as I can overclock it later on.

Cooler - Under 40 degrees almost 100% of the time, and almost silent. Not much more you could ask for here. Glad I made the choice on getting liquid cooled instead of air cooled.

Mobo - Was a breeze building with this one, and has everything I need in it. 4 RAM slots, more than enough USB, and I probably won't plan on X-fire down the road.

RAM - 16 GB of overclockable memory, has been reliable and definitely enough for my needs. Glad I didn't get 8, I've been over 10-11 quite a few times.

Storage - 1tb reliable hard drive for my normal files, and 250gb in my SSD is enough for 3 or 4 of my favorite games (probably more if i didn't have GTA in there).

Graphics Card - The highlight of this build, has been able to make use of my monitors refresh rate in practically all the games I've played, averaging 75-80 FPS in GTA and keeping a stable 144 in CS:GO. Also haven't even overclocked it yet.

Case - Can't say this was my best choice at the price point when i bought it, bought it looks great and it wasn't too much of a pain to build in. If i could go back, though, I would have probably gotten an S340 or Fractal Design case.

Power Supply - Though I was going to end up with a lower end i5 & r9 380 when i bought this - will probably be one of the first things i upgrade.

Optical Drive - It works.

Monitor - Amazing monitor, and I was able to get it for 60$ thanks to my sister breaking her laptop (which had insurance on it, so we got a free gift card and I was able to use it after I gave her my old laptop to use). Definitely noticed the difference in CS:GO and other games where it stays around 120-144. The colors also look surprisingly nice for a TN monitor.

Keyboard - Would definitely not recommend. Pretty bad build quality, space bar doesn't work sometimes, and the lighting is extremely uneven & tacky. Hopefully getting a K70 soon.

Mouse - G502, an amazing mouse with everything I need on it. Use most of the buttons, and have run into absolutely zero problems. Also looks great & feels great in my hand.

Thanks for reading! (sorry for the potato pics & horrid cable management - kind of hard with this power supply.)

I'd like to see more and better pictures, and your cable management is a disaster. +1

Don't even think you can call it cable management, but the next psu i'll get will be modular and cable management will be my main focus. didnt bother with it this time around because of the non modular PSU.

Cable management might need some work. But, to be honest, you don't really need a new power supply just yet, if you're not doing anything crazy. If you do want to upgrade, at some point, something like a GQ/GS/G2 PSU, should do nicely.

Keep in mind that SSDs runs slower the fuller it is, I usually keep mine 75% empty if I can.

Grenada chips are pretty power hungry, even the GPU suggest that you need a PSU that supports 750W or above, your new PSU upgrade might have to come sooner.

I know you probably didnt notice but i've had this PC for two months and the PSU has done surprisingly well - but obviously i won't be able to overclock anything with it. top of my list of upgrades right now.
