Hey everyone, I've been lurking around for a bit while buying parts for my pc and everything has finally come together these past few days. I'll primarily use this rig for gaming and video editing while at my university. I'm currently not at my apartment (back home for labor day) so I neglected to get closer inside shots of the pc. I have just one from when i was in the middle of the corsair H100 installation so once I'm back I'll get a more updated look.
I've only been able to use it for 2 days before i left but so far, its fantastic. The sheer speed is what has me shedding a tear. I also like the Asus z87 plus' ability to give a slight overclock to your cpu with the press of a button in the bios. It works really well and it'll serve its purpose until I try to get a higher overclock at a later date.
I was originally going to get the Asus 770 but in the end, i went with evga and I'm liking the performance and the aesthetics of the card. Can't wait for that black-plate though so I can stop that gpu sag.
The only thing that went wrong in the build was that my WD 1tb did not work. I can hear it running, but its not visible in the bios or in windows 8 and I have no idea what to do. My 30 days is up so I can't RMA it on newegg. I have a backup drive that i took from a seagate 3.0 2tb that working so I'll see what happens.
Notes: There's evident gpu sag for the 770 and from Google, I was told that a back-plate would help that out so I'll be ordering one pretty soon.
If anyone has tips on cable management, I'm all ears. Its a lot tougher than I thought.
I haven't bought the asus monitor yet but i was looking for a good monitor for a dual monitor setup in the future. I've been hearing good things about the VN247H-P so that seems like a good choice at the moment
