Description

I built this for gaming as I didn't want a next-gen console. It has worked really well, I have AC IV and it runs well (no clue what frame rates I get but I don't notice any stutter). I can run Skyrim with quite a few mods including an ENB. No issues with anything. Everything runs well, definitely would recommend to anyone on this kind of budget. I haven't got the keyboard yet though. I'm using dual monitors, a 19" 1366x768 and a 23" 1680x1050 (I know, weird resolutions).

Cost was £545 (at time of purchase) for everything below (except the mouse) + my 19" monitor. (The mouse and second monitor were gifts)

Just seen the current price, brilliant price haha, if I got it for that I could've gotten myself a better monitor.

If anyone has any recommended upgrades please tell me.

I've upgraded to dual monitors now, second one is 1680x1050, I guess I'm just destined to never have a good res screen haha. Total cost at the time was £545.

I also am wondering about the price. Are you going to OC the 6300? It will improve your performance.

my guess is no, unless he plans on buying an aftermarket cooler down the road

Yeah, you're right, I didn't, performance is fine the way it is, I'm not too fussy when it comes to quality. It cost me £530 in total (inc. monitor)

How good is the stock cooler for the FX-6300 (assuming you're not overclocking)? I've heard they are kinda mediocre, but I don't know since I generally use Intel CPUs and the stock coolers for those are actually quite adequate.

Intel procs have lower TDP's and thus generate less heat -- that probably makes up the bigger difference rather than the fansink.

After a few months still no problems, not very loud either, much quieter than my brothers old xbox anyway.

How is that motherboard treating you? Any problems with it? Thinking about buying the same CPU and mobo but with a Sapphire 7950...Would this be a good combo with that mobo?

I've had no issues, I assume you have your build by now haha, I haven't been on the site in a while.

Yeah, I like it a lot, looks good, doesn't look cheap. It doesn't have any front USB3.0 ports though (in case that is an issue for you.)

Are the headphones treating you well?

Yeah, they're amazing, comfortable, good volume, long cable, they sound great and at a low price. Can't really go wrong with them.

What about gaming, on things like Battlefield 3/4 or CS:GO? Are they good there?

It runs most games pretty well, I don't have BF3/4 or CS:GO but I played BF Hardline Beta and it ran alright. I have no idea what frames I get in most games but I can run most games I've played at medium - high settings without any noticeable stutters. (Shadow of Mordor being one of the newest I have, most settings at medium, very occasional mini stutters but nothing too bad).
