Upgraded from a i7-3770 with a 8gb ram max supported desktop from Best Buy.
nice build love the rgb and +1 for the i7 8700k and 1080ti you must get alot of frames in new games. again nice build :)
thanks alot, currently playing destiny 2 and getting no lower than 165 fps with settings all maxed out. Btw, that's during firefights.
I'm thinking oh getting a i5 8600k and a 1060 6gb and then latter in the future upgrading to i7 8700k and a 1080ti
nice, i got really lucky on landing a 8700k ( was sold out 2 min. after i got mine). my build was actually centered around a i5 8600k so i will definitely be looking forward to your build, good luck!!
thanks good luck to you to!! :)
I have the 8600k and if you don't need the extra threads and aren't going to do major multitasking there isn't really a reason to go with a 8700k. The frames are nearly identical and you won't benefit much for another $100 if that's the case.
Way to go. Those fans look great. I did a very similar build. H500P, i7 8700k, 1080 ti.
I wound up having to switch my rad to top mounted though since the front mounted setup was warming the gpu up too much for my liking. How are ur temps holding up?
Congrats on an awesome build though. Enjoy the arrgeebees!!!
even though i already ordered all the parts beforehand, let me tell yah. your build really gave me confidence on what it could be. so, much props to yah mannn.
haven't done any stress test yet, but did hit 58°C gaming for around an hr.
going to actually build some confidence and try to delid my cpu to see how better it gets.
Awesome build friend! I'd like to note however, that 58c while gaming is NOT bad with Coffee Lake (especially if you have a small chassis). With Coffee Lake, the low 80s are considered acceptable. Ideal? No, but safe? Yes.
Right on, thanks brother. I am with ya on the delid, haven't tried it before. My cpu temps are a few degrees warmer than yours w the rad on top but my ti hasn't passed 69 c in any game.
I miss the top mounted fans though and i keep coming back to look at your pics of those new corsair beauties.
nice!, thanks again :D
Looks amazing! I am currently planning to do a build with similar specs and RGB (ryzen tho and air 540 case), do those RGB fans support AURA sync? What do you use to tame the massive variety of RGB lights?
Thanks, unfortunately these fans doesn't support aura sync. if you're planning to use these fans tho, then do please get the COMMANDER PRO. i was able to put in 5x120mm fans and 1x140mm fan plus all of my RGB strips without using any of the lightning nodes Pro. which is +++1 on the cable management dept.
Oh, that's a shame, I was planning on getting my build to do a smooth gradient of colours in sync, and the Corsair LL120's are amazing.
I can't seem to find much RGB RAM that comes in 4 sticks and is 16GB, does it look much worse using 2 sticks of RGB RAM? Why did you get 32GB for like $200 more?
there's a lot of builds here that uses 2 sticks of rgb ram and looks amazing. Unfortunately i can tell already that i'm going to end up staring at those empty dimm slots till who knows when, so to save myself from OCD despair i went and got a 4 stick kit. I actually bought it for $350 during a Newegg sale, the price for them now holy geezzz.
I have two sticks of the Trident RGB and it doesn't look bad at all. I'll never go back to non RGB ram again.
Thanks! That's all I needed to know
Man this is an insane build. If only I had $200 to spend on RGB fans lmao. BTW love the Gundams on top.
thanks! had some tears formed when i click the purchase button, but after all set and done, it's really worth it. my amateur photos done no justice for it.
Like the build man+1. Just a question, for what do you use your m2 ssd for, just for the OS?
yup, i have 2x500gb Samsung ssd from my earlier desktop for everything else.
That's awesome! Wish I could afford all these things but hey I'm glad I still can afford the 1080 Ti, enjoy your build man!
thanks a lot!
Hey just another more thing. Did your motherboard support all those fans or how did you do that? Fan extension cables?
Or splitters maybe?
I'm curious on why you bought a G2 instead of the G3, is it quieter than the G3?
I came across a thread in Reddit that the G3 was not so quiet and at the time, the G2 was on sale for $89 and the G3 was $130 - $140. So it made it easier to decide. Right now i can't hear any noise at all coming from the PSU. Very satisfied.
Yeah I was going to order the G3 but read so many complaints about the loud fan, my PSU now the AX1200 by Corsair is loud enough. I don't need anything near 1200 watts anymore as i used to sli years ago. I'm trying to replace it for something nice a quiet.
So far barely any noise, and I'm not even on eco mode.
Well,I’m sold, I’ll pick that one up instead of the G3
nice, glad i could help
insane build! love that new Corsair RGB fans! +1
Nice build, btw warlock master race
Thanks! Lol I'm assuming that's a deathscythe reference
Nah, its s destiny 2 reference, u said u played it in onw of the comments
How do you like the H115i? I'm trying to choose between that and the kraken x62. You happy with the temps and performance? Thank you!
If you meant the h100i v2 then, so far I'm loving it. It's quiet and the temps are pretty descent, although I haven't really pushed it that hard. But it hasn't given me any issues so that's a plus
Thank you!! I’m leaning towards the h115i now. I want to avoid all of those issues on the NZXT c62. You heard anything about the cryorig A80? You wouldn’t happen to have a recommendation for a full tower great air flow Pc case would you? I would basically love the meshify C case in a full tower version.
Awesome build, dude! I don't know how people can afford to build stuff like this lol.
