Description

This is my first build and I was aiming for below $1000. I know that I have no graphics card, fans or keyboard. The onboard Intel HD 4600 graphics will play games at medium settings for now and I can always throw in a GPU later. The case choice was easy because for only $50 I got a decent looking case that included 4 fans. I had an extra keyboard lying around that will do for now and I'm using a older 1080p monitor I was given by a relative. Please comment about your opinion it would be great to see what you guys think was good or bad about it. Please don't criticize my horrible cable management, this was my first try at it and plus my case doesn't have a window so who cares.

Its pretty nice, but if your gaming on this thing, invest in a graphics card. You also should consider getting a bigger hard drive. Where did you find a 4690k for 199, that's an amazing deal.

Perhaps because it's CAD and not USD? Even then I've heard parts are more expensive in good ol' Canadia.

Microcenter. They had a sale going on.

Isn't a bad build for the money, and you could put a GTX 750Ti in it for cheap and that'd really jump your power. You could go with a 970 for a bit more but then you would have a solid rig for any games.

I'd also look at getting a HDD to compliment the SSD for bulk storage, you'll fill up 120GB pretty darn quickly.

My only comment about your cable management, aside from my OCD about aesthetics, would be that those cables can restrict airflow, so that is a concern.

For what it is, it's pretty good. When you get the funds just pop a 960 in your machine and you will devour games at 1080p. Welcome to the realm of PC gaming.
