Description

I used to have a 2500k years back on my gaming rig and was always pleased with it's performance and ability to overclock well. I ran across a deal for the MB and CPU for $100 and decided to ditch my work laptop and build a small desktop. Although I don't game at the job, I often have anywhere from 20 tabs to 50+ tabs open at all times. I also F@H and run the program 24/7 on this computer. This combo should undoubtedly handle all of my needs without any performance dips. Everything minus the graphics card was second hand. My reason for the GPU was to accrue 3 million points per month for EVGA's F@H promotion =]

UPDATE I reconfigured the fan setup in the last pic. Originally, the bottom fans brought air in and exhaust was out the top and rear. This was not conducive for the GPU as there is limited space between the GPU and radiator. I've switched the top to intake and all remaining fans to exhaust. Temps dropped around 4 degrees on the CPU and my GPU no longer fights for air.

Update #2 I sold the 950 FTW for $100 through Craigslist and picked up the following for $125. EVGA 780 + Corsair HG10 + Corsair H60. I think it was worth the extra 25 if you ask me.

The CPU was overclocked to 4.7ghz. Temps reached 75C on cores 1 & 2. I've scaled the OC back to 4.6ghz for daily use.

Not bad for a budget build.

Great choice for the Graphics Card! Check out my build, it was my first choice :) The FTW version surpasses the need to buy a 960.

Love the case! Looks great. I was considering a BitFenix but couldn't find one cheap enough. Wait, a couple extraneous details on pic #4: a Samsung/Corsair printer??? Really? and the "Love you Dad" note. Very nice!

Lol! The Corsair sticker is a joke between my brother and I. I have another build that's pretty much all Corsair parts and slapped that on. Everyone has to have something from their kids, too. The note is from my daughter. Thanks for the love! =]

Is it my eyes, or is your GPU sagging a bit?

It did have a sag and I've since corrected it. I don't think I've ever had a MB that didn't let the GPU sag...

The SSD is on the back panel behind the motherboard.

There is enough space for (3) 2.5" drives on the back panel behind the motherboard. The only downside is the panel is going to be a pain in the butt to close with the cables needed to run the drives.
