Description

So, I have a tendency when my life gets stagnant to supplement with unnecessary technology, and this beautiful beast is no exception. Primarily, I use it for productivity, both work and non-work related, but occasionally I really let her loose with a dabbling in light programming, gaming, video editing, etc. and when I do it really shines. I love the power and not having to check compatibility ever and the fact that it sits right next to me and I can't hear it at all. A few of the parts I had lying around from previous builds and some of the parts, due to what I do, I can't share the price I paid for. So all of those parts are listed as $0. One thing I will say is this was probably one of the more finicky builds I've done in terms of getting it to run stable. the 4.6 clock on the 6700k is actually fairly moderate from my experimentation and the system will run stable at that no problem if you run windows 7 or windows 8-8.1. But when at low use or idle, the entire system would freeze, lock up, and BSOD giving random error messages each time even with no overclock. I actually took apart and rebuilt the entire system several times convinced I had made a mistake in assembly before finally realizing that windows 10 and skylake don't like to play nice when it comes to sleep levels. After disabling C-states, so basically the computer either runs at full power or is powered off, it runs beautifully with no issues. The LEDs are actually all Phillips Hue light strips and I'm very happy with them though I know there are cheaper options out there that work just as well. But yeah, let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions for improvement (except to get matching monitors, I'm already working on that).

I like the name as is... Without the "needs a new name" part.

Great build!

Thanks! yeah I'm a bit of an anomaly in that regard. I just really enjoy computer hardware and pushing the limits of a computer.

Thank you! Yeah I mean I justify the extra expense in that if I ever decide to max out the 64GB capacity It's worth it to fill the two slots with their max capabilities now rather than have that extra expense down the road.
