Description

Just kidding.

My 83 year old grandfather finally gave in and asked me to get him off of his Vista-era Pentium. He didn't want to spend more than $300, so here's what I did.

CPU: A6-7400K and the motherboard cost me $59 at MicroCenter. CPU set at 45w TDP because I doubt my grandfather is going to be running prime95 or 3DMark benches.

Memory: I bought a single 4GB stick from Amazon, they sent me two. Bonus.

Storage: This was the cheapest 128GB SSD with Prime shipping at the time.

Case: I wanted a slim design case for him and I've used this one in the past. Cheap PSU but it isn't like he's going to be leet gaming 24/7 or doing anything more strenuous than watching old episodes of Grand Ole Opry on Youtube.

OS: throwdown copy of win 7 laying around

I'm very pleased with the build and I'm sure he'll love it when I deliver it tomorrow.

Please remove the OS section and I will approve this build. We do not allow that subreddit on here as those keys are sold illegally and against TOS.
