Disclaimer: I already had an old case & 320 GB HDD. I almost exactly copied my friend Josh's setup :D Was graciously gifted with a previously loved on video card and motherboard at no cost to me, so no complaints here. He pointed me in the direction of my CPU, PSU, and well, basically everything lol. I didn't have much to spend on a computer, around $500 I was willing to put into it. I built it mainly for school work and leisure shoe browsing, I just needed something more reliable, and just downright better than my Chromebook (shudders), but without breaking the bank. I considered everything: saving for a pre-built PC, a laptop on sale, even saving to blow on a Mac (shudders again), before finally taking the leap into buying and building a PC... after many weeks/months. Having such a low budget left virtually zero possibilities for playing anything other than Club Penguin, because my main priority was being able to do away with my dreaded Chromebook. But to my surprise, this cheap $140 AMD CPU works wonders, I would actually be able to play most recent titles if I upgraded the GPU, but that can wait. I can though, play Tomb Raider, Skyrim, and my personal favorite, BFBC2 at a steady 45+ frames on this old rig. Was super skeptical at first, but super glad I ended up investing the little I really had in my first build! Shout out to Josh and his old man for their help in putting it together because I would've probably electrocuted myself.
