This build is for almost entirely gaming. I decided not to go all out on the CPU since a 7600k is more than powerful enough for any modern games on 1440p stock, and with liquid cooling I can easily OC.

I run 1440p, and have yet to find a game that makes me run on anything other than max. The 1080 ti seems to have settled in since I got it because it ran slightly hot when I first built the PC, but after 2 months it runs slightly cooler now.

The build process itself was actually extremely fun. The P3 case is really nice, and made of really sturdy metal. I went out of my way to cable manage this build since usually I leave a mess of cords, but this build was to show off. After I finally got everything put together, I realized the glass cover that comes for the front of the case was not a good idea to put on. It somewhat restricted my GPU airflow, and generally made it look a little strange, so I left it off.

All in all I am really happy with the build since building it. It cost me 1800$ total all in all, and I honestly think it was very worth it.

What overclock have you gotten on the cpu?

syg101 3 Builds 2 points 22 months ago

just saying, you'd be much better off for OC'ing with at least a 240MM AIO. much better cooling performance than a 140MM

While it's better and dissipates more, I highly doubt he's gonna NEED anything over 140mm on kabylake...

Just take Intels wonderful advice and don't Overclock it /s

But seriously, the overheating problems aren't that bad with adequate cooling.

syg101 3 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

that's why i'm saying get a 240mm

tomtomj2 9 Builds 1 point 22 months ago

The 140mm he has tho will also work just fine, no reason to get a 240 mm if OP already spent money on the 140 mm.

Seconding what others have said; with your AIO cooler, you'll be able to hit 4.5 GHz easily, even if you didn't win the silicon lottery. You'll likely be able to overclock higher than that. Plenty of people hit 5.0, and most people seem to settle in around 4.7-4.8 stable.

Really like the build btw. +1!

How'd you come up with the name?

I bought it entirely with my tax return.

Taxation is theft.

I hope you are playing with a monitor above 60hz otherwise that 1080ti will be money down the drain

Got a 1440p 144hz monitor for my older build and was disgusted at the performance I was getting, which inspired me to make this build. So I could max out what my monitor could do.
