Description

My first built custom PC, as it stands now after I bought the main parts about a year ago now.

Primarily it is for gaming. However I use it for video and picture editing, as well as other graphic related things.

Please not that the prices listed are what I payed for each item at the time of purchase and not everything was bought at one time.

Overall building this was no problem really. Little issues here and there; nothing big. The only headache I had with the build - and that ultimately cost me extra (wasted) money and time - was for a short period I decided to do 2-way SLI with my GPUs. After a few months I went back to a single GPU.

Some item(s) I could add to the parts list:

Speakers : Logitech X-530, 70 Watts, 5.1 surround

I welcome and constructive criticism; but just posting something like "what you bought is crap" is never needed. I never said this was a great or high end build. Just something I put together for my first build.

OK, for the people that can't seem to understand this. I didn't buy this all at one time. And when I bought the 4300 the 6300 was not the same price.

Everyone keeps only looking at the current prices - I bought most these parts (except for the key board and mouse) at least a year ago if not more. Yes, there were some parts I bought locally rather than online at that time, so I could have probably saved some money on those parts.

Overspent for what you got. A $1500 build with a 4300 and 660? C'mon.

It's really a $1000 build if you subtract the cost of the peripherals and OS. Considering this, and that most of the components were purchased about a year ago, I'd say this is a decent build for the money.

Alright. Pretty sure that when I said that there was no indication that it was built last year. I don't think that a $100 sound card was needed, nor a $70 case and $150 mobo. Money could have been spent better.

I wrote in the description - the first line - says I bought most the pieces almost a year ago.

Also; yeah there are cheaper cases out there at the time I bought mine but part of the deciding factor was I liked the design and the fact it had a carry handle on it (I walk over to my brothers house a lot and game some times).

As for the sound card - I bought that at a later date and just wanted a higher end one. Again something I didn't need but wanted.

With the listed motherboard: it's actually the second one I had bought for this. I had bought a $89.99 GIGABYTE before but had to buy the $150 ASUS because for a short period I was trying out SLI - which I quickly regretted even bothering with.

So, yes - there are plenty of other parts and pieces I could have bought. But this is what I bought at that time and over the years.

Alright, I see how it is. I shall revoke my downvote.
