Description

I built this machine about a year ago, as an introduction to PC gaming. A lot of the items listed have been accumulated over the past year separately from the build: A 240gb SSD, Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor, and headphones.

Definitely had a few great deals in there (Motherboard, case, keyboard, and GPU) and made good use of sales and pre-owned stuff to reduce spending.

Here's a youtube video where I show my finished set up (as well as show off some of my other cool tech) and talk about some of the products: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URjjirklc4k

I'm currently looking to start a NEW system build (already!!), and you can see that list-in-progress here: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Tarmander13/saved/#view=ktr323

Great build, I'm curious about your next-gen build. It has a Titan X listed as $370; I'm guessing this is the space saver for the gtx 1070?

The setup is clean IMHO, although the cable management could use some work.

I wish I'd had the room to do better cable management. Being such a cheap (and small) case, it became clear some of the cost was saved in taking out cable management features. There was hardly any room in the back of the case, which is why I had to use the drive bays to bundle extra cable. With the side panel on, all of those wires are hidden luckily.

Very clean looking setup!! One question why is there masking tape on the hsf???

When I created the build, I was gaming in a hot room with no Air Conditioning in the middle of the summer. I needed all the airflow I could get, and the tape made sure all the air the fan was pushing flowed through the heatsink. I should have taken it off for pictures, although I don't have it on there any more.
