This build started because i saw a video of the game Space Engineers and it reminded me of when i used to play that game years ago but never could enjoy it because my computer was a potato. I have dreamed of having a PC capable of giving a pleasing visual experience with a smooth consistent sim speed. I had been pricing out parts for a few months with no intention on buying them but then i came across this old fx 6300 w/ r9 270x tower for sale for $200 and snatched it up. I sold the old gpu and outdated AM3+ mobo/cpu for $125 and used the remaining guts for this build ( case, 600W PSU, opt drive, HHD, SSD, fans) saving me a ton of money on small things. I also stumbled upon a used GTX 1080 for a solid $240 (works perfect) thus making my build even cheaper and grabbed the MOBO from amazon with the BIOS already updated to ryzen 3000 ready and hit the local best buy for the ram, NVME SSD, and CPU.
I've named her Ole' Dartha. I've been playing Modern Warfare, space engineers, destiny 2, and many other games on max settings 60+fps easily. i have no complaints about this build or any of the items used in it, it is going to serve its purpose for awhile.
