Description

I'll be getting a better CPU cooler soon!

It is my first build ever. I did as much research as I could on the parts so I'd get good performance for a good price. I would have liked to go for a 2000$ build but as a student it just is not possible.

So far, it works really well. I use it mainly for gaming, as I have a macbook pro for editing videos and pictures and school stuff. Watch_Dogs, LoL and CS:GO all run perfectly.

I'm not too sure about the wireless adapter, as I've had some problems with it but it's too early too really say if it's worth changing it or not. Otherwise, I might upgrade RAM, GPU and CPU gradually over the year.

A nice build you've got there. What was the problem with the WiFi adapter?

It just flat out didn't work yesterday. I switched to a wired connection and everything was fine. Everything looks to be back to normal now.

Congratulations on your first build. Very nicely planned and built.

Great build!

Wow, Almost exactly how i would've done an 800 dollar build. Might have forsaken the SSD at first in favor of a better processor, but thats just preference. Nice.

How's the kingston ssdnow is for you? what the firmware is it now? kinda contemplating to get it because of the reviews out there

christo492 submitter 1 Build 1 point 58 months ago

I got it for 10$ off on amazon and I couldn't be happier. I only have the OS on it and it's fast : 19sec boot time.

Is the stock heat sink for the 6300 good? I'm not planning to overclock anytime soon so I wanted to know if it's good for stock.

christo492 submitter 1 Build 1 point 58 months ago

I'm not overclocking either, so it looks like a decent cooler. I still have to monitor the CPU temperature under demanding conditions. I'll keep the description updated.

CPU Temperature While Idle

19.0° C

Is this accurate? If so, that's really nice. I wish I had it this low temperature.

christo492 submitter 1 Build 1 point 58 months ago

it's 19.0 when the computer isn't used at all. When browsing the Internet and watching YouTube videos it's around 25-30. At the moment, I only have this page opened and it's at 21.

It only has those crazy low temeratures because the AMD temp sensors are unreliable at idle. Same happens with me and my FX 6300.

jacobs4525 1 Build 1 point 58 months ago

good well balanced build for $800. Nice job!

Seghasivk 1 Build 1 point 58 months ago

Only difference I would've made is to get cheaper RAM and an R9 280.

Nicely done for the money! And nice pictures too - what camera/lens do you have? Thinking of picking up a new DSLR or mirrorless this summer.

christo492 submitter 1 Build 1 point 58 months ago

I have a Canon T3i with a 16-35mm Lens. It was shot in auto mode because I wanted to focus on building the PC :P

Youngsk21 1 point 58 months ago

Oh no you got the poop fans! They just released new black ones.

GazzaKnight 2 Builds 1 point 58 months ago

Nice build mate I see you have LOL open on the MacBook how well does this run LOL what FPS are you getting? Thanks mate :)

christo492 submitter 1 Build 1 point 58 months ago

I run LoL at low settings (not very low) without Vertical Sync enabled (so I get more FPS) and it's around 300 when nothing is happening and 90-150fps when there are ennemies on screen. The lowest I got was 80 in a Orianna mirrored One-For-All

Nice, thanks for the reply :)

EclipseHD 1 Build 1 point 51 months ago

That's a pretty sick build you got there. +1

HubbaDave 1 point 51 months ago

I plan on building this same exact build, can I do without the extra fans? Also I'll be using an ethernet cable so I won't have to buy the adapater or the ssd.

andrew.coulson 1 point 47 months ago

Yo could have gotten a gtx 970 for 300 dollars

AtomicBuzzy 1 point 37 months ago

Nice build! I was wondering what framerates you got for games like BF4 and CS:GO, because I am considering building this.

yamanmalik 1 Build 1 point 36 months ago

Hey man im making a build soon using the same mobo and CPU, im first time builder but theres some message that keeps coming saying the board might need a bios update for the cpu to work, i dont know if youl see this, but did you have to update your bios at all? did it work out of the box? :)

daltonwg 0 points 58 months ago
