Description

This buil, Zeke, is complete aside from an updated graphics card and solid state drive. I chose these parts to have the ability to upgrade hardware and save space. It fits nicely beside my computer desk and has a lot of power for such a small, efficient case. This is my first "true" install. Self-explanatory installation with mainboard, CPU, PSU, ram, HDD, and PSU. I thought installing the Corsair AF140 fans would be easy-peezy, but I had to dremel off a corner and one side to fit above mainboard. The heatsink from the top portion of the board, and cables from the secondary power made the fan impossible to install. Since I knew I could safely shave away the plastic around the fan it was an easy hour fix to keep my PC running at 34C idle! The speed and fluid it has in Skyrim on High settings is astounding! I know GPU is outdated, but it was something I had to compromise until I can afford to put in something much more powerful in the next couple months. Very satisfied with how Zeke performs: amazing web surfer, video editor, entertainment system, quiet as can be. Looking forward to the community responding to my build!

There's not much point in having a GT 730 paired with a 6500 as the integrated GPU in the CPU is actually more powerful than the 730 http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GeForce-GT-730-vs-Intel-HD-530-Desktop-Skylake/m12582vsm33102

Most likely he had already taken the thing from a much older build.

Planemaster 1 point 14 months ago

Yeah, I kind of assumed that but there's still no point in having it in there.

He could of sold the GT 730 for a few bucks, for better equip.

I have some concerns about the motherboard, the GPU and the cooler choices.

The GPU is recycled from a previous PC. What are your concerns?

Was the board from a old build too? It would be nice to hold on to for an unlocked cpu in the future.
