Put this together to make a micro gaming build with a nice looking water cooling setup.
Made use of quite a few Newegg sales to get better prices for many of the components.
Update: Added images of the final layout.
You forgot to remove the plastic covers.
Yep, was waiting until complete, they are removed as of last night.
Once I got in the correct motherboard and CPU I have switched the case to vertical layout.
I am still trying to figure exactly how I want to place the radiator. I am aware in the photo that the air-flow will not work properly with it against the window. It also blocks more of the view than I would like. The size of the video card and reservoir make placement a little tricky. With the final motherboard in, things would not fit the same was as they did previously.
Even with things as they are laid out right now though, the CPU is overclocked to 5Ghz and temps are still around 40. A better layout should drop that a bit though.
The final layout has dropped the idling temperatures from 40 down to 24-25.
More pictures please. Nice build!
Finalized the build and added more pictures showing the final layout.
Where'd you get the red for 130? Cheapest I've ever seen it, and cheapest on this site, has been 190.
Picked up a 5TB Western Digitial Elements, and took the red from inside it.
Was a post on slickdeals a week or two ago about people receiving reds inside of the externals.
Damn, nice, I thought they only put blues or greens in externals, good deal.
I now regret a semi-related purchase...
Yeah, some folks in the forum were getting greens. My guess is they just ran out of 5gb greens and started putting in reds, since there appeared to be more reds than greens.
Pics would really help. Super curious what that mess looks like. Looks tight to build.
Great build although i would have invested a bit more in a better GPU but still a good build. Hows it working out?
Installing the OS tonight and will see.
Just finished setting up the water cooling and installing the CPU and motherboard last night.
I wanted to wait for a Pascal video card honestly, so did not want to go in too deep on the card, and getting the Windforce 970 for $300 with Witcher 3 was just too good of a deal to pass up. To go another step up would have cost a pretty hefty chunk more, that I put into the 1TB SSD instead for now. Ill do a Pascal GPU next year.
Wonder if SLI of those cards is better than the R9 295X2.....
