Description

This was built to replace my eight year old Athlon 62 x2 3600+ system that started having issues. It is mainly used for web browsing and some gaming. So far it has done everything I need and is a real improvement over what I had before.

The cpu and motherboard were purchased at Fry's. The cpu was an open box item. The ram and case came from ebay. I like the case but there really aren't any cable management options. The power supply and drive bay adapter came from amazon. The network adapter and hard drive were things I already had.

Overall I'm really happy with how this turned out. I did a slight overclock in the bios to 4.0 ghz and I may bump it up more in the future. I'm using the igpu for now and I seems to be good enough for the games I play. Unmodded Skyrim is smooth on high at 1440 x 900 which is the native res. for my monitor.

The two hundred dollar builds are sometimes more fun than the 2000 dollar builds! Nice work.

I like builds like yours. They aren't outrageous and aren't (for the most part) EXTREMELY overkill like the $3000 builds that get posted. This PC does it's job and that is all that is needed.

i have a A8-6600k + 4gb ram, so i dont get as smooth framerate on games, but these APUs with 8gb of ram can give lower end cards a run for their money. very nice build

Yeah, I've been pretty impressed with it. I have a 2gig gt640 I could put in it, but I don't think it there would much of a difference.
