Description

Ever Wonder what an all RGB build would look like? What it would cost? How it would perform? Well Wonder no more.

Some of you might say that it's all too much and sometimes it can be BUT the versatility of this system is limitless. When I first set out to build my own PC, I saw countless themes, styles, color schemes etc. I just couldn't decide and could never settle for one so I wanted to build something that would have it all. You want a red/blue theme? Everything is controllable. This is what I set out to build a year ago and I'm finally there. Check out the last few pics ;)

OMG I finally got featured build. THANK YOU PPP! :D

On the carpet?? Really

CRS10114 7 Builds 6 points 3 months ago

Yep. Zezainster has posted a version of this build before. I'll post the same thing I said last time:

The problem isn't necessarily with the main part of your system getting dust, it is with your PSU being choked for air and sucking in dust straight off of the carpet. Sure you've got the feet on the case, but since you have somewhat shaggy carpet, dust is bound to head straight for your PSU if it isn't already choked by the carpet.

You've obviously got a great system (and great looking, might I add), so I think it is worth it to get a thin box (like a keyboard box) or a piece of hardwood to lift it off of the ground at least a bit.

WtR 1 Build 0 points 3 months ago

Or flip the PSU upside down?

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 8 points 3 months ago

The PSU is flip sided.

admiralnorman 4 Builds 4 points 3 months ago

It's okay. They get it eventually.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

Yeah really really :(

EpikMark0123 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Hey man for real even get a small black shelf from your local hardware store and just put it under, thats what i did.

juhni 2 points 3 months ago

The psu is flipped. The fan is on the top side pulling air from inside the case. See picture #7.

EpikMark0123 1 Build 3 points 3 months ago

Ye i get it just still its nicer.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

Agreed. Couldn't hurt to have something under it. I'll have this worked out before I post my next update with MSI's 1070 Quicksilver in SLI.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 4 points 3 months ago

Best comment EVER. Thanks brother. Apparently people don't like RGBeees? I wonder why the industry is so obsessed with it though.

Hector1908 2 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

Don't bother with the negative comments bro , You will never be able to please everyone . You got the featured build and that means you did really good . The most important thing is that you love it . Btw I think it looks amazing , congratulations .

P.S . I agree with jipster69 , really great build .

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

Yeah exactly. I'm not going to let myself get sucked into the haterade troll vortex. I love it and I can turn the lights off if it's too much for me or change the color scheme. That's what I wanted and that's what I made, couldn't be happier.

Thank you :D

JonnyBGoode 1 point 3 months ago

Exactly...I'm only 15 and saving money so I could only DREAM of having your perfect build :')

Well done! It looks amazing!

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

Think of it this way. You're only 15 and if you save up for two years you'll have a better, newer and more powerful PC than me. Plus you'll have it at 17 as opposed to 30. OK now I'm sad :(

jipster69 4 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

They are cool to play around with... but I generally like subtle white (or one color) lighting for 24/7 use.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 3 points 3 months ago

Same here. That's why I changed to a red and blue theme for now. I can literally program this thing to represent the colors of the American Flag. What's more fun than that?

Enrico411 1 point 3 months ago

i loooovee RGB!! Everyday another colour lol. Just love all the possibilities!!

Great build!!

Oh and btw i believe the fan on that psu runs only at high loads or certain temps so most of the time it doesn't spin. So in the end its not that bad to put it on carpet as others here say ;)

+1!!!!!!

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

Yup that's the plan: change colors when ever I want.

Finally someone who realizes it. It's a hybrid system so it only spins when it needs to and it NEVER turns on. So obviously it's properly cooled. Also the fan is facing up so dust? What dust?

Colossus 1 point 1 month ago

Negative comments are ridiculous in spite of this excellent build! Haters gon' HATE! The "hating" is a classic representation of concealed envy in disguised form. They hate you cause they ain't you!

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 1 month ago

Hehe, thanks.

Mmm... I'm tasting the rainbow now.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

jipster69 4 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

Build mascot! LOL

Eltech 14 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

Oh my goodness, yes!

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

I can see that. But I want the mascot to be someone badass with a rainbow wig. Cuz rainbows or not this thing can bring it when it comes to performance.

CRS10114 7 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

I see you still haven't gotten something to put under your case. Do you plan on doing that soon? I recommend you do. It would suck for something this cool to get messed up because of negligence.

Anyway, fantastic build.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 4 points 3 months ago

Sigh yeah you're right. Will get something soon I promise.

CRS10114 7 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

Why not an rgb inwin or thermaltake psu? And if you want to custom liquid cool, use the phanteks/thermaltake rgb gpu/cpu blocks and thermaltake rgb fittings!:D Did i miss something?

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

There's an idea!

Jameelh 2 points 3 months ago

Don't even need a Christmas tree anymore, just stick this in the middle of the room and turn it on.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

It's like its Christmas everyday!!

KohnJeffFennedy 2 points 3 months ago

Since I'm definitely not the RGB master you are, do you think that the Corsair HD RGB fans are better than the NZXT Aer fans when it comes to their RGB capabilities?

Also, great build (kinda goes without saying, I mean look at it!)

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

I actually think the AER RGB fans are better. Software control > Analog control any day. But I had to have 6 fans in there and to get 6 AER fans in there I'd need 2 Hue+ hubs. There's no way I am doing that.

C.higgins23 2 points 3 months ago

jserpe6417 1 point 3 months ago

That thing looks really cool, and and all RGB setup? Sign me up!

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

Thanks!

whirichardson 1 point 3 months ago

Swa-eeet! You picked a great case, I just did a build with the Phanteks Evolv TG. I want to know how did you install the fans on top? I see you did the AIO radiator vertical it didn't seem like there's much to work with on that top rail they provide. Very slick build. I've not settled on final cooling yet. using air cooled with a FUMA for now.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

The case has a built-in mounting bracket on top. You just attach the fans to that and voila. Thanks!

whirichardson 1 point 2 months ago

Hmmm I was looking at the bracket for radiator install in the top of the Phanteks case but there are no threaded holes for fans to install. I could of missed something, it looked like the bracket would hold the radiator and the fans screw into the coolers radiator hardware.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

No you can install the fans by themselves without a rad. You just need to use the wider and shorter screws usually included with your fans.

nandit 1 point 3 months ago

2 questions

Why place you PC on the Carpet?

What are the temps for your GPU (only asking because I want to get an SLI build but i am too scared of the temps ruining the card)

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

Small apartment no space. Will move to a roomier place once the lease expires. Temps are great. There's a CAM screenshot with all temps listed.

monkeybars 1 point 3 months ago

All you need to do is literally just get a thin piece of wood cut the size of the case to put underneath. This isn't a hard problem to fix.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

Yeah just been lazy since my PSU features a hybrid system where the fans only spin when they need to and the fan is facing up. But yeah I'll eventually get something in there unless I move to a new apartment sooner.

whirichardson 0 points 2 months ago

being a woodworking type I'd build a Asian looking platform out of oak. rectangle with 1/2 molding very linear on a 1 3/4" base set in about 1/2" from edge of platform. Glued and screwed won't come apart. Stained black or dark java, spray can lacquer or polyurethane three coats. All done. Dark Star platform.

Yahtadi 1 point 3 months ago

How could your CPU 18c idle, what your room ambient temp? do you live in a pole?

Yahtadi 1 point 3 months ago

And the last few pics, you changed ram sticks into the ugly one?

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

I wanted to match the Red/Blue theme. When Gskill finally releases the software for their RGB RAM, I'll put em back in.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

IDK what the room temp is but I've always had really good luck with picking cases that have really good airflow. My RGB snow build sits idle at 16 :)

Yahtadi 1 point 3 months ago

Thats kinda impossible, your rig's temp never go above your room's ambient temps.. Thats basic

If your idle is 16, how much your room's ambient could possibly? 10?12? Do you sleep on ice?

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

My rig's temp can't go ABOVE my room's temp, OK I get that. But the fact that my rig idles at 16C shows that my rig is BELOW the room's ambient temp not above it. That's basic.

Yahtadi 1 point 3 months ago

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

You said the rig temp can't go above the ambient temp in the room. So then why are you proposing that my room's ambient temp must be lower than my rigs' temp? Come back when you've got your math and logic sorted out.

Yahtadi 1 point 3 months ago

Did you just ask "that room's ambient temp must be lower than rigs' temp" ?

The answer is yes.. System's temps can not go lower than your room ambient's temps, you said your rig was 16c at idle right? so your room must be lower than 16c, that is what i meant here by "basic"

And my question is, where do you live in a room that has temps under 16c, south pole?

jnbui79 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Very nice! I did an all RGb build myself. Well, maybe not according to some of the people that have commented on here.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

LMAO people are trolling, it's OK. I did repost this build several times so that's understandable. Maybe it's not just RGB master yet, but it's damn near closer than any other I've seen on here.

jnbui79 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Check out my build. I did as much RGB as I could also

Khyzer 1 point 3 months ago

Did you drill new mounting holes into the front rails to allow for the X62 to fit on the front without removing the drive cage?

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

Nope. Look at the comment history on RGB synergy, I posted a solution there. But get the X52 you'll be better off for it.

blockbuster4664 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

"RGB master" but no led strips? 4/10

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

Hey Blockbuster, look closer.

blockbuster4664 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Statement retracted, and on a side note, did you use the corsair Link for that system?

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

If you mean the cable then yes I did swap out the Micro USB cable from NZXT to Corsair.

Imamhumahumi 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

I try to hold my setup and wait for nzxt aer, well, corsair hd is cool but analog isn't cool at all 7/10 Btw, how u put x62 in front like that without remove tray above hdd

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

I managed to put the controller outside of my case so not much of an issue for me. I would get the NZXT Aer fans except the Hue+ controller can only support 5 fans at a time and I don't know if I want two of those things in there just for that extra 6th fan. X62 solution has been posted in a previous post for the same build.

Imamhumahumi 1 Build 1 point 2 months ago

Hue+ support two channel, each channel can hold up 5 nzxt aer or 4 nzxt led strip

Still dont understand about x62 solution, im sure u need to grind some metal to fit ur x62, am i right?

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Yeah just recently found out about the Hue+. I'll be rebuilding with the Hue+ fans and LED's. No, no grinding necessary. Remove the front plate and the fans. Align the radiator to the bracket (the one built into the front of the case) from the outside. And screw in the fans to the radiator through the bracket from the inside.

NobleSavage 1 point 3 months ago

I like the core component selection very much, I'm planning a very similar (but less beautiful) project... https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/NobleSavage/saved/#view=Dh33CJ

Would like to know how your MoBo compares with the Asus STRIX Z270-E GAMING ATX (which I have pencilled in).

Also why 2 M.2 SSD's?

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

It's similar in pricing but better in every way. In fact, I don't even think my Rog Formula VIII is as good as the Aorus Gaming 7. The list of features on these boards go on and on. Plus it looks beautiful and performs wonderfully.

Why two NVME SSD's? Because my PC boots up before my monitor turns on, that's why :)

NobleSavage 1 point 3 months ago

I'm a bit of a PC build noob, it's my first, so the 2 NVME SSD's are in a raid set up? Is that straight forward to do?

Thanks for your thoughts on the MoBo, I will switch.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

Yes they are set in RAID 0. Very easy. In your BIOS there's an option called EZ RAID setup. Just select it and follow the prompts.

Masterclass build ! Could you tell the benchmarks of some games ? All running at 4k ultra settings. Particularly, Gta 5, Witcher 3 wild hunt, Dark souls 3, Metal gear solid v definitive edition, Rise of tomb raider, Mortal kombat xl. Thanks a lot !

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

Thanks! I can't do 4K benchmarks on this since my monitor maxes out out 2K resolution. I do have a 4K TV but idk if I'll move this PC to the living room for benchmarks. I also don't have most of those games you listed except MK XL. I'll post the 2K results for that :)

manuj17400 1 point 3 months ago

Connect your pc to that 4k tv please and send me the results bro. If it has hdr then turn on. Don't forget game mode as well. You should definitely buy those games which I listed. You shouldn't miss those masterpiece games for your masterclass build rig :) In India, pc building and parts are way expensive. Very few variety too. I currently have a ps4 and I love it. In future, definitely pc gaming with no compensation of my budget just like yours but better.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 0 points 3 months ago

No promises but I might try to do some 4K benchmarks and I really don't think I'll be shelling out all that money for those games you requested.

manuj17400 0 points 3 months ago

Atleast do for MKXL. 4k ultra settings. Hdr and game mode on. Min, avg, max fps. Thank you.

Though maybe not really needed for now since I double checked again on photo # 7 which looks like the PSU fan is facing up?

Your lovely cables look cool but they remind of Aquafresh toothpaste. Otherwise, enjoy your computer which I'm certain you are. :)

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

Yeah it's terrible. I'm sorry it looks awful, I'll take it all down.

bmccarthy8989 7 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

Lol no its fine. That is purely subjective opinion on my part. To me RGB was made so that users could pick/change a single color at will. That said once the colors were synced this build would look even better.

Whaaaaaat?? This is new. I've got my SSD's setup in RAID 0 and running my OS off of it. So I know that's working. I've successfully enabled SLI and played games in SLI. So where is my CPU failing? Scratches Head

Tech22 1 point 3 months ago

Well, your CPU isn't failing, your cpu has 16 PCI-E lanes it supports. Each m.2 SSD takes x4 lanes each so 8 lanes there. Then each gpu will t ake anywhere from 2-16 lanes. And because you used 1/2 of your 16 lanes (8), each gpu will have to run in X4 mode, or 4 lanes.

I was origionally going with the same CPU in my build, but then I realized I need to go into X99 to get enough lanes for 1 m.2 and my two gpus to be in x16 mode.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

I've seen benchmarks and read reports on numerous tech blogs where they say the difference is between 0-1% on PCIE x16 and x4 in real world scenarios. Especially while gaming the difference is minimal to none. We're talking 96 FPS VS 95 FPS. I can live with that "fail".

Tech22 1 point 3 months ago

Well ok then :) keep in mine when benchmarking and a few other tasks, it makes a huge difference.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

Yeah you're probably right but idk man I mean I spent so much already and I haven't had any issues yet so it really isn't worth it for me to make the switch. I did learn something though and I'll keep it in mind for future builds, thanks!

What a shame to have to put the lightshow under your desk.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

It truly is :(

Cam84 2 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

I'd get a bigger desk so I could stare at it during loading screens lol nice build!!!!

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

Lol that's what I'm gonna do eventually.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

That's the plan, thanks!

Dawsoncody 1 point 3 months ago

-1, The ssds are not RGB! Misleading title

Jk, awesome

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

When they make em I'll get em.

Dawsoncody 1 point 3 months ago

Great attitude!

Hanime 3 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

Very nice build. Not hating on RGB lights, but is it a thing now? I'm seeing AMD promoting it with the Ryzen 1700 heatsink, G.Skill rams, and RGB fans, etc. everywhere now.

Wi1dCard2210 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

it's been a thing for a while and it's kinda old almost

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

It kinda is but that's always been my thing. I'm never satisfied with a specific look so having this gives me options to choose and pick which colors I want. And thank you!

No. This is 2017 barfing into an Enthoo Evolv.

pic 23 has the wrong ram?

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

Who said it's wrong? It's my build, I can do with it whatever I want. Just like the Bosley hair transplant guys, it's their hair they can do with it whatever they want.

Wi1dCard2210 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

no like it has the Raiden plasma sticks intead of the gskill RGBs lol

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

I know I'm just messing around. I changed the RAM in the last few pics to show the versatility of an all RGB build and to match the blue/red color scheme.

Wi1dCard2210 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

ah, I thought you had accidentally uploaded a pic of one of your other builds. How are the red raidens btw? I've heard that they appear more pinkish than red. Does it look fine when more red stuff id around it?

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

Yeah honestly that bothered me a lot when I first got them. It's got a bit of a pink hue to it but with more red around it, it blends in well and doesn't look so bad.

sniperunrepeat 1 point 3 months ago

No RGB power supply... hurts my feelings.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

VernonBradford 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

Nice build. Whats the name of that monitor? How do you like it? Is it overwhelming while gaming? Im thinking about getting an ultra wide.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

LG 34UC88-B. I like it a lot. It takes some getting used to especially in games but if you sit back a bit it gives you a huge advantage due to the increased visibility of your surroundings.

Etnzz 1 point 3 months ago

epic, that cpu cooler is expensive though but it'd be worth it.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

Yeah it's a pretty efficient AIO.

syg101 3 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

I looked at your list of completed builds, and how tf do you manage to afford all of those, especially with the parts you put into them? a quarter of your builds at least have 1070/1080 SLI...

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

I have a job, I'm a software engineer.

syg101 3 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

makes sense

GalacticWaves 1 point 3 months ago

What software are you using to measure the temps and memory usage?

Also great build! i'm planning on building something like that soon :)

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

NZXT's CAM software. Google it, it's a free download.

GalacticWaves 1 point 3 months ago

Thanks i'll check it out :)

If at first you don't get featured, then post again, and again and again until you do.

Spectacular build, but so were all your other posts of the same build.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

I wasn't really looking for the feature but it's awesome to have gotten it anyway, thank you!!

Arichikurukuto 1 point 3 months ago

Did you paint the back of the Zotac? And what paint did you use? I want to change the yellow to red.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 2 points 3 months ago

Didn't paint. I used vinyl paper, it'd be a pain to paint that backplate.

Arichikurukuto 1 point 3 months ago

With the heat from inside the case and what not, it isn't peeling? If you don't mind what brand did you use?

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

It's been great so far. I don't think it'll peel off.

I used this brand: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L9JAS80/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Arichikurukuto 1 point 3 months ago

Awesome much appreciated.

sniperunrepeat 1 point 3 months ago

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 3 months ago

skylinegtrtre69 1 Build 1 point 3 months ago

I'm not usually a fan of the crazy multi-colored RGB builds. But I have to hand it to you man. This build is done right. I think this build looks fantastic. Excellent work buddy.

MisterListerTheSisterFister 1 point 3 months ago

such a bad build... No rgb ssds' and no rgb m.2, and no rgb power supply

llamasbetrippin01 1 point 2 months ago

What are your CPU temps like?

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

There's a pic with the temp stats :)

cwood848 1 point 2 months ago

zeza how did you get the hd120s to work on the 280mm radiator?

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

The rad fits on the outside of the bracket and the fans fit on the inside. So Fans inside, bracket in the middle and the rad on the outside. Screw your fans into the rad from the inside.

KinGSuzTaiN 1 point 2 months ago

Beautiful build ! One question, I have the same case, same radiator, and same fans. I see on radiator you have the 2 corsair fans. But on the other side of the radiator (behind the case cover) do you have any fans ? And with your current setup are your temps good ? No problems ? Thanks !

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

No it's pull only so there's only one set of fans on the inside. Temps are GREAT. CPU temps sit idle at 16-18C and GPU temps are at 34C on average.

cmo3 1 point 2 months ago

Ur CPU is not RGB! Lol. Great build tho!

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Thanks. Let me know if anyone actually has a RGB CPU cuz when I think RGB CPU for me that means a RGB CPU block which I do in fact have.

MuchLinux6500 2 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Oh. cool

KinGSuzTaiN 1 point 2 months ago

Nice build ! Quick question, I'm building a new pc and got the same setup of the x62 and the same 6 fans your using ! How did you connect and wire all the fans? Thanks in advance !

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

The Corsair HD fans come with a fan hub that'll let you connect up to 6 fans so just use that.

insuruto 1 point 2 months ago

Great build! I got the same ram you do but in 3200. Just put my build together tonight. Did all your ram sticks leds work hassle free out of the box? I got one stubborn stick that wont change colors or cycles. It just stays stuck on the default rainbow pattern. I tried asus aura software, uninstalled, rebooted and tried gksill's software too. Both failed and that's after the lastest bios update. Asus IX Maximus Formula mobo. This is so frustrating, lol.

Zezainster submitter 14 Builds 1 point 2 months ago

Try switching that RAM stick to another slot.
