Description

Well the reason for the build was due to my PS3 going up in smoke. The choice was get a ps4 or bite the bullet and build something myself, which I've always wanted to do. I wanted something that could play fallout 4 on at least high settings and have some longevity. My budget was limited so I have shopped around which might explain some of my choices but I've tried to the things together nicely and even get a colour scheme going(white and black with blue lighting).

I also want to be able to upgrade should I need to later going sli and adding some better cooling.

Cpu- I've gone for a i5 6600 which I managed to get for £155 on Amazon which was quite a lot cheaper than most stores, and the difference between the k version was too great to ignore.

Cooling - cooler master 120v ver 2. Just to keep it all chilly.

Case- nzxt 410 phantom, white and black looks like a storm trooper designed it. Enough said.

Ram- 2 sticks of hyperX fury 4gb. Should be enough for now.

Mobo- asus z170-a, good reviews, has the spec I wanted and was white and black.

Storage- sandisk ssd £40 Amazon lighting deal. Could not turn it down.

Gpu - evga nvidia 960 4gb, thought the 4gb might last a bit longer games wise and was a coin toss between this and Amd 380. Had nvidia before and liked them so stuck with it.

Psu - evga supernova nex 650. This will hopefully be enough should I go sli; based on the calculator I used and I got a good deal from Amazon. Seems like a quality bit of hardware so only time will tell.

System start up worked first time and after a fan setup change from case controlled to mobo control its all working nicely. The system with windows 10 and the ssd boots up in 10 secs max and it the fastest computer I've ever used.

Well let me know what you think. I am very pleased with it so far and enjoyed the whole building experience.

Do you use the side panel or leave it off? Nice build btw

Thank you, I forgot to include a final picture of where I placed the rig. I have used the side panel and annoyingly due to my desk setup I have to place it on the left hand side. Meaning if I want to look at the goodies inside I have to turn it away from the wall. :(

Thanks and yes I agree. Its already 20% full and this was really just for the os and whatever game I might be playing. I just wanted to get it built. I did see a WD blue 1 TB for £38 on amazon yesterday so might have to spend some more money.
