I bought everything but the peripherals and the ssd from microcenter. I have not overclocked the cpu or the gpu yet. I intend to dabble in it later. I did however enable the xmp profile for the RAM, so it is running at 3200. I've run batman arkham knight and ARK survival evolved so far. Batman runs exceptionally well at max settings (I got over 100 average fps in the built in benchmark), and ARK runs anywhere from 30 to 50 fps with a mix of epic and high settings. I am going to by two additional case fans. I just haven't decided which ones to get. Future upgrades will most likely include a second monitor (probably a 120 or 144 hz panel), m.2 ssd, and a 1tb hdd.

Pcparkpicker claims that the hyper 212 evo and the masterbox 3.1 are not compatible, but coolermaster's website claims otherwise and mine clears.

I like your build. You commented that you will be buying a 1tb HDD. I know you are aware of this but it bears repeating because this type of purchase happens to us all at some time or another. When you buy a HDD be sure to double-check the RPM speeds. Some sellers do not make the HDD speed readily available unless you hunt and peck for it. The seller will flash on the screen a really good price for their particular product with the hopes the buyer will purchase it post haste and without doing any research to get into the details of the product. I've seen too many times where a HDD is "On Sale" and upon deeper inspection it is a 5400 RPM HDD instead of the faster 7200 RPM HDD's. If the 5400 RPM unit is your desire - go for it, but I advocate knowing about it before you make the purchase and not finding out later it is not what you thought it was at the moment of the purchase.

Thanks for letting us know about the Hyper 212 Evo/MasterBox 3.1 and I'll file that tidbit within the old cranium for later use. It's good to finally see Graphics Cards get to a reasonable price. You did a good job with your build and Thank You for sharing it with us. Praise The Lord and Godspeed to you all - Romans 10:13!!

Thanks for the warning. My laptop came with a 1tb 5400 rpm drive and it was the worst. It kinda made me hate using that laptop until I upgraded to an ssd.

Nice build. It looks great and has everything you need to game :) It looks like the 1070 and 1060 6gb are finally starting to come down in price (finally).

hows the case? i think im gonna get one. Do you think it would fit one of the single fan radiator aios? cuz its either i go with the hyper 212 or the aio if it can fit

and also, does the case have decent airflow?

I haven't had an issue with heat yet. The red trim on the front are actually air vents, allowing for good air intake. I've ordered another fan for the front to improve air intake.

I like the case, but cable management was a challenge. You can fit a single fan aio in there. It supports up to a 240mm radiator.

Good job on the cable management, it looks clean in a difficult to work in case.

Thanks. It was a challenge.
