Description

This is my first build. All of the computer components were purchased during the week of Thanksgiving. Currently, PcPartpicker has marked my build's price to be 750 some. This is inaccurate due to the deals that was offered for Black Friday (no i did not participate in cyber monday :P). The total cost of the system including rebates was 610 dollars. I was very fortunate to have a micro-center where I lived. Hopefully this build will last me for quite a while until 4k resolution becomes a standard.

ps: i got over 60 fps while playing runescape :D

Some ppl may argue about my power supply being too low. I know i know there's better deals out there but I like the seasonic brand and it was the cheapest 80+ gold for 50 bucks (semi modular). It came in a nice box. I didn't take any pictures of the boxes and stuff bc everyone's doing that :P

Hopefully you like my setup. I tried listing everything.

Feel free to criticize. Have a nice day.

You're doing it wrong. You need at least 2 gtx 690s in sli if you wanna play runescape.

Runscape runs harder on systems than people think. I get more FPS on WoW than I do in RS, and I can get more FPS on Skyrim (lowest settings) than I do in RS.

I honestly see a great balanced build.

Why would some argue that your PSU is to low? Its one of the best known PSU brands and is perfect for your system. You wont be able to crossfire x with that but hey for the price you paid for this system you got a very good quality build. People might have said something if you chose some other unreliable brand like OCZ or Coolermaster PSU. Good build and happy gaming!! Would love to see the inside and your handy work with the cables.

unfortunately my cable management isn't as nice as i had hope it would be. If u want, i'll post more pictures.

Nice budget build. Does what it's needed to do. Don't know why you're getting so much crap for it.

Please tell me you'll do something other than runescape, this could easily run many modern games...

editing runescape videos?

I mean to say, the video card you got was kind of overkill, even for video editing (maybe?)

Yes and much more than that... but do u play league? whats ur summoner's name?

I think with a 7870 you can run more than Runescape! Try to play those modern and indie games, join the community! :)

Hahaha I do play other games besides runescape. Like team fortress 2, call of duty, metro 2033 league of legends and such. Lergic doesn't seem to understand my sarcasm about buying the graphic card JUST FOR runescape.

Well you did say Runescape, and people do tend to take things literally, ha. Very nice build, I envy you with that sexy case ;)

  • 1 point

lol thanks. The only issue i had with the case was that the fans it came with are loud as heck. I had to use the fan controller and turn them down to low but they are still loud! Also the rubber grommets are iffy.

Maybe your case fans are defective, I have 2 Phantom 410's. Black with white trim and gunmetal and both are nearly whisper silent with the fan controller at full speed.

perhaps its my coolermaster heatsink that's making all the noise then. I can feel the fans pushing out a lot of cold air so I don't believe they are defective.

Nice build man, I like it. It's fairly similar to mine.

Woah, with those specs man, you should check out planetside 2. It is free. It is pretty much World of Warcraft, but it is a First Person Shooter. You can spend money on it if you want but the only things money can buy are weapons and clothing(Clothing is useless, only for looks). You can buy weapons with in game points things you earn by playing but it takes longer, but the default guns are still really good. Anyway, have fun with your new toy.

How is PS2 "pretty much World of Warcraft"??? I've seen many games compared to World of Warcraft but this is the furtherst stretch I've ever seen someone compare. Planet side 2 is by no means anything like World of Warcraft... It is a open world pvp Massively Multiplayer Online First Person Shooter in a futuristic setting. Closest thing you'll get to a war simulator.

OP if you check out Planet Side 2 make sure to find a outfit its the equal to what a clan or guild is in other games. The game is not meant to be played solo like Call of Duty. It really comes to life when you have an orginized group leading its way into battle. Otherwise many find it boring.

I did not mean it as a comparison, I meant it more as a metaphor as a way to give a vague description of it quickly without using a large scale explanation. I was meaning it was in the mmo genre, with thousands of people playing it. I love the game and it is amazing. It is pretty dang close to a war simulator though. Teamwork is mandatory, there are explosions every time you turn around a corner and when you see a group of enemies, you always panic even if you're the most seasoned player there is.

So true, so true. When I help take over zones I'm part of a specific squad, it can get pretty intense trying to get past enemy lines and setup a defensive perimeter while the main force goes for the capture point. Only reason I gave a discription was because if I didn't know any better and compared it to WoW I'd have not given it a look especially if I'm a FPS player and can't stand RPG's.

Alright, I see why you said what you said in the way you said it in your first comment up there, and I can tell that you love planetside 2. Everybody should love planetside 2. Point here is to get people to play this game because it is amazing and deserves to be seen and played by the world. If you play on u.s. east servers, on the continent of Indar a lot ingame, and are part of the NC there, then you know where to find me. :D

When I used to play it years ago, I could easily max out RuneScape on my laptop's 512MB Radeon HD 3650. It runs quite well on very old cards, and even today's lower-end cards. Unless you plan on playing newer games, you could've downgraded to a cheaper card.

Other than that, it's a nice build.

Nice build, that monitor looks killer which model is that?

  • 1 point

Sorry for the late reply. Its an LG 27inch monitor Model: E2742V . The screen size is a plus but since the resolution is only 1080p the texts aren't as sharp as I would've liked. Also for some reason my monitor has a subtle green tint to it. Currently its 350 dollars, but I bought it during black friday when it was only 200. Personally I wouldn't recommend you buying it since it's not a ips monitor.
