Description

CPU - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz Quad-Core

I had this CPU laying around for years and I decided that I would throw it in a small form factor case and build a Gaming PC around it. It does everything you need it to do and Has never failed me.

CPU Cooler - Rosewill RCX-Z90-CP 62.5 CFM Sleeve Bearing

I will not be doing any overclocking because of how small the case is so I decided to keep it cheap and simple. Its not really loud at all and keeps things cool around 45 in idle and 68 underload. I thought about getting a 212plus but I wasnt sure it would fit so I kept it small simple and sexy.

Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-G41MT-S2PT Micro ATX LGA775

Like the CPU I had this motherboard sitting around so I resused this and decided to build around this. It has no fancy features but it works. No usb 3.0 But I wanted to put it to use. It just works!

Memory - G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333

Like the other items I previously had, this was laying around my closet. It is the fastest speed the motherboard can take so Im reusing these 8gb and Gskill has never failed me in the past. It Just works!

Storage Seagate 1TB 2.5" 5400RPM Hybrid

I had to run out and pick up 1tb hard drive because the Harddrives I had laying around didnt want to work for somereason, and they were a tight squeeze (3.5) I grabbed the SSHD because I heard they really do have a solid speed and I also went with the laptop size so it can keep things light and fit easier.

Video Card - Sapphire Radeon R9 270 2GB

Got this on a great deal on ebay for 130 free shipping! I love the r9 270's , they are great overclockers quite and play 1080p games at highest settings like buttter. I have 2 MSI r9 270s in crossfire in my main build and they run perfectly so thats why I Stuck with AMD . With this GPU I got Bioshock Infinite highest settings 48avg fps in the benchmark and Tomb Raider Ultimate settings 46.3 avg in the benchmark. both at 1080p

Case - Rosewill FBM-01 MicroATX Mini Tower

Small , Simple and super light! It was a tight squeeze but i wanted to keep it small as possible . The case looks great and I love the simplicity of the case.

Power Supply - Rosewill 500W ATX12V

Also had this PSU laying around, Nothing to crazy about it. it never has failed me , stays cool and at 500watts it runs everything I need.

Remeber this is a cheap gaming build I built with Parts that I had laying around. So far so good!

Was researching the Q9650 as an upgrade for an otherwise terrific machine for my son. Hard to believe how cheap they are now. Found your build. Those Q6600's are a breeze to OC, but I agree you'd have heat issues.. Looks like a fun build. I admire simple and inexpensive. Kudos!
