Description

This is my first ever custom PC build. Prior to this, I was using a Sony laptop from 2010 (my college computer) to do all of my computing and gaming. So when I decided to build a desktop for myself, I wanted something that would be fairly overkill for what I use now, as well as something that would last me for quite a while.

Most of these parts were purchased over Black Friday or when certain websites were having sales, so that helped quite a bit.

I am currently using an extra monitor I had around the house. Here soon, I will be investing in a 4k gaming monitor to finish everything out.

I would also like to add some more lighting inside the case, but I can always do that at a later date.

As it is my first build, please let me know what you think, suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Nice build +1. Did you run into any issues with the motherboard? Looking to get the same one myself.

I really enjoy the motherboard. The program it comes with is great, and it looks awesome. I have had one problem so far: either one or two of my ram slots have gone bad, or a couple of my sticks of ram are bad. I haven't had a chance to determine which is the problem yet, as I have been busy with school and work. But once I do some more research and tinkering, I will let you know.

One issue: keyboard. If you get the chance, upgrade your keyboard to a blackwidow chroma. Your computer is not mechanical, and thus, your clicking is not as fast. My preference, but overall good build.

I looked at the blackwidow and considered getting that one. But I ultimately chose the death stalker because I like the chiclet style keys more. Just my personal preference. But I will keep that in mind in the future.

Hey mate, nice build there! One question still thou.. There it's a limited distance between heatsink MB and Fans of Kraken radiator ? I have the same case (Stryker Ed) and a Corsair H105, I'm little bit afraid if the MB will fit and if I'm supposed to move the cooler. I know that Corsair it's 1,1cm thicker than Kraken... hope will fit!

It was a very tight fit. I had just enough room to get the fans and controller plugged in to the motherboard. But it did fit. If you don't have enough room, try mounting the cooler on the front of the case maybe? Other than that, I wish you luck.
