Description

So this is a rig i have just been upgrading since around last August. And now it's finally where i wanted it to be. I was very lucky to be able to get two 1080's. I have not over clocked them at all. Right now i can run games like Overwatch at 1440p on ultra settings and it never drops from 144fps. Also i can run fallout 4 at about 110-130fps on ultra settings. This build is very quiet which is nice. I might do a custom water cool loop eventually but that would be later on down the road. Plus i still need a HB Bridge. So yea i hope everyone likes it and thanks for checking it out.

Amazing what a 750W power supply can handle now! Look forward to the HB Bridge.

I heard that there is a special sli bridge for the 1080s that run way faster than a normal sli bridge. i would recommend you getting that, but again, the build looks stunning!!!!

If you have the money, go ahead. But if you want to save a little bit, I recommend different ram. The ram this guy bought is way to expensive.

Can it run 4k 60 fps on high/ultra in the most demanding games?

All the games that i have played at 4k with my system have been higher than 60fps. Those include: overwatch doom fallout 4

Um... is it true like other ppl say that msaa is pretty worthless/unnoticeable at 4k res.?

I think the real question is.... Can it run minecraft

I feel minesweeper would be a better test of this systems true power.

  • 3 points

I can only run minesweeper at around 30fps in 4k

  • 1 point

That must be really detailed minesweeper

Turn down the antialiasing on minesweeper, that could assist with the fps.

But can it run Minecraft on low settings?

Nice build. I do highly recommend getting a higher water PSU. At the current state it's at if it were to run at max it'd be running at 79% of it's capacity and 80+ PSU's work best when they're running from 30%-70%. Besides that everything else looks good man.

According to PSU manufacturers website 87-92% efficiency @ 20-100% load... without knowing what the efficiency curve looks like it's not possible to tell at what load efficiency peaks.

Thanks for the comment! The PSU was something i was worried about when i decided to do SLI. I would like to get a bigger one, just haven't gotten around to it yet. Good thing is that the 1080's are much more power efficient than the 970's I had in it originally.

There's no "work best" at around those loads. There's marginally higher efficiency (at what point also depends on the individual PSU) and that's it.
