EDIT***So I changed my keyboard, due to the Razer Chroma being SO LOUD. I swapped to a Logitech G Pro, and it is absolutely amazing. :)

So I have always been a gamer, and enjoyed all kinds of video games on all platforms. When this streaming stuff really took off, I decided that it would be a great idea to dip my toes in the water with a $1k budget build...As you can see that took a huge turn, and surprisingly, with the full support of my wife! I spent countless hours staring at this site and hundreds of other builds, and piecing things together to get exactly what I wanted, and the basic idea and reason for why it took off, is I kept thinking to myself how much it will cost me later to upgrade, and I didn't want to fork out the extra money then, so I just went ahead with it now! Everything in the Part List is every purchase I made for this build, and it's quite solid if I say so myself. My temps are about 30C idling and never over 45C under load (Streaming & Gaming). I have not overclocked anything yet, besides the 3200 RAM, because when installed it was at 2144 for some reason, so I pushed that to what it should be. I plan too, just not yet. I really hope you enjoy and let me know if you have any questions!

I will add more pictures when my wife edits them! She took them with her camera, and will get them all "done" up for me! For now, here's a few from my phone!

Part Reviews

What can I say, it's a coffee lake. Works amazing, just as it should. And well worth the price!

CPU Cooler

Very easy to install, and very sturdy in my case! The lighting on it is fantastic, and keep my CPU under 45C. The infinity mirror RGB is what sold it for me though. Fantastic CPU Cooler!

Had a little trouble working around the BIOS, it's very user friendly, but almost "too" user friendly. If you're experienced in gaming, and overclocking, I'd go with a more advanced motherboard. 4 stars because the display ports on the board were DOA. But I don't use them so it doesn't affect me greatly.

Great memory, great colors, terrible price (expected)

It's a SSD, what more could you want?! Works great, loads fast.

My very first time using an M.2 SSD, and I don't regret it. Makes reboots SO much faster, when you can hit that reboot button and you're typing your password in again in less than 10 seconds, that's a great feeling!

A little noisy, but not terrible. Also pricey, but the price to reliability ratio, it's great!

Video Card

Great 1080 for the price! I wish the LED Lights were customizable. I went with the 1080 because I couldn't spend the extra $200 on a 1080Ti when the results wouldn't make a difference for what I use it for. Does what it needs to for my needs! Great GPU!

This was the FIRST piece I chose for my build, and my entire build revolved around the beauty of this case. I'm SO surprised it's this affordable, it could easily sell for $150+. You can't find a better case for this price! Roomy, quiet, and great cable management built into the back. The tempered glass front really lets you show off your RGB (if you're into that)

Power Supply

For the price, you can't find another 650W Gold Certified this amazing! Very happy with it's performance and how quiet it is!

Case Accessory

I hate this thing honestly. Doesn't work at all. Can't get it to read with the CAM software, or any of my fan RGB. They really have a lot of work to do to get this thing properly working.

I just had to throw a review in on these headphones, because of how amazing they are. I'd recommend them to my worst enemy. Enough said. :)

Very good mic, almost too good! Takes a lot of adjusting to get the right pick up from it. It was able to pick up a conversation (during my stream) my wife and I were having across the house in another room!

love the setup and everything in this build man. My OCD is killingggggg me with that screen turned vertical tho XD. haha I see you did it to provide space for the PC. Is there a bigger desk in the future too?

Twizzey submitter 1 Build 2 points 9 months ago

Thanks man! Yeah I set it vertical so that I can see the beauty of the PC while playing. :) I use it for chat and discord so it doesn't bother me too much, even considered getting rid of it. I don't know yet. I'll stick with this desk for awhile. I love it, solid wood, and EXPENSIVE. It was given to me, but it's about an $800 desk. It's actually an L shaped, I just don't have the other piece attached.

7th photo looks like a pepsi commercial... maybe you can get them to sponsor this build if you rename it! hah!

I can get down on some Cherry Pepsi, just sayin'...That photo was from last night (4th of July)! :)

nicely done!

Nice build. I have many of the same parts including ram, kraken, case fans, and nzxt hue+. My hue+ has no problem working with my aer fans or AIO, Did you double check that everything is hooked up correctly?

Twizzey submitter 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

Thanks! They're all solid parts, I love it. And yep, I double and triple checked. :/ Not sure where the issue is...Maybe a bad Hue+? The CAM software sees the Kraken with no issues. Just not the Hue+ or Fans, or LED strips.

Brianjc24 1 Build 2 points 9 months ago

Possibly, see if you can exchange the hue+ for a new one. With how much these parts cost they should work.

bconn315 1 Build 2 points 9 months ago

i have a parts list like this labeled "dream build". love this setup.

Twizzey submitter 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

Thanks man! I went off of a few different builds. Picking out what I liked, I had an image and much to my surprise, I'm pretty close to that vision. :)

bconn315 1 Build 2 points 9 months ago

how do you like the yeti as far as position with the boom when your steaming and blocking your view? thinking about getting one of these.

Twizzey submitter 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

I like it. I've moved it around a few times to get it exactly where I want it. It's not designed to be in your face like some others. It works perfect being out of the way and picks up everything you want! Just have to do a lot of testing to get it perfect. :)

bconn315 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

cool. and minimal keyboard pickup?

Twizzey submitter 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

Still adjusting that ;D

I seen your post on the facebook page

Twizzey submitter 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

Oh! Nice! Thanks for checking it out!

brycetheroman 1 point 9 months ago

I noticed you have the red cable hiding bracket even though the default to come with this case is white, how did you manage that? Beautifully inspirational build btw.

Twizzey submitter 1 Build 1 point 9 months ago

Hey Bryce! You are correct, it was originally white, I think there are 6 screws holding it in, so I removed it and painted it red. I got the case 2 weeks before anything else and was itching for something to do involving the build so I decided to throw the red accent in there! Thank you for the kind words! If you have any other questions let me know!

Ace214 1 point 7 months ago

If you could again, will you spend the extra money and get the HUE+ with the nzxt fans or go with a cheaper option?

Twizzey submitter 1 Build 1 point 7 months ago

Hey Ace214, I wouldn't necessarily go with a cheaper option, but if I could pick my parts again, I'd go with Corsairs RGB options, seems much smoother and easier to use. Hope this answer helps your journey!

Hi, beautiful build! I just had a quick question for you. You didn't have to do anything weird when mounting the Kraken x62 to have clearance for the first RAM slot, did you? I'm planning on going with the same processor, cooler, and RAM, but it looks like it will block the first RAM slot on the Asrock Extreme4, so I think I'm going to spend a bit more on this motherboard if it worked so well for you! Plus, uh, I get the cool ASUS RGB sync stuff, so, yay! :D Thanks for your time and any advice you can offer.

Twizzey submitter 1 Build 2 points 5 months ago

Thanks! So the Kraken x62 fits perfectly, there's probably about 1mm space between it and the RAM so there's no issue of clearance. It worked very well!

astronautlancebass 1 point 5 months ago

Thanks for responding! Hope my build looks half as cool as yours. Finding the picture of your mobo + 4 dimm slots filled + Kraken x62 really helped after reading comments from folks with a blocked dimm slot on various Z370 boards. Cheers!
