Description

This is system is being used mainly for web surfing and playing videos.

I'm still using this old Antec case I've purchased back in 2004 from Newegg:

I have replaced the power supply that came with it and have upgraded every component over the past several years.

There is no cable management behind the motherboard tray like newer cases, so I decided to install a modular power supply to keep the wiring as neat as possible.

It does run fairly cool and quiet with two 120mm fans installed. It also has a dust filter in the front of it.

It boots fairly up quickly, about 30 seconds from power on to desktop and programs run fast with the SSD. I don't plan to do any future upgrades, except if the price of DDR3 RAM goes back down, I might put in an additional 4 GB.

The W.E.I. is currently at 7.3 - 7.3 - 7.4 - 7.4 - 7.9

That is what i call a well balanced build. Probably plenty of untapped performance under the hood too if you overclock.

Very nice. I had three of those cases here at one point. One was black like yours and the other two were beige. Unwillingly, I had to toss them out.

People have been saying that the Optical Drive that you have is loud, is that true for you?

I rarely ever use it anymore, but the last time I used it ran quiet.

I can tell you first hand... that thing screeches like a banchee when something is in there. It makes my R4 case sound silly. Good thing it gets near zero use.

The CPU works fine. I'm just running it at stock speed. Seems to handle what I need.
