Description

Jesus...I had no idea this was public. Them downvotes. I was just adding parts in here to catalog the build for myself.

I built this machine back in January 2013 as my mac mini was getting pretty old around that time. I was starting to code in Visual Studio and do a lot of work in photoshop (web design), and that old hardware wasn't cutting it. This was my first PC build in a VERY long time so I ended up going overkill with some things and completely omitting some altogether.

I originally planned to grab a GPU (hence the power supply), but kinda ran out of funds by the time I got there. As a result, this machine is still a work in progress and I will probably be picking up a GTX760 in the near future. It's kind of wedged in the middle of the desk there (don't worry, it's got proper ventilation) but I'm far too lazy to pull it all out and grab some more photos of the inside. The PSU is non-modular so trust me...it's a little bit of a mess.

I'm missing a drive and other non-important stuff in here, but these are the basics I currently have. I'm also looking into replacing the crap patriot SSD (had it lying around and was still the worst mistake I've ever made in this build) with a Samsung 840 pro and grabbing a CPU cooler since my temps are a little higher than where I'd want them to be at idle.

EDIT: I added some pictures of my desk setup as well based on request. My Potato S4 shoots just about the shittiest photos I've ever seen in low light which is just about all my room ever gets. Desk is a little messy, but I'll do my best to describe what you see.

  • First picture is where you can see the two speakers that are stowed away in the two little cubbyholes. Offer perfect sound and not taking up any extra room.

  • 2nd picture is the front of the desk that you see when you walk in. I wedged the computer in what seems like the perfect spot for it to be. Enough airflow, holes in the right spots where all the fans go. It was love at first sight.

  • 3rd picture is my under desk and "yet to be cleaned up" wiring. You can spot the sub, APC UPS unit, and the backside of my computer all complemented with spaghetti style wiring. Will probably get around to cleaning it up this weekend when I'm done with other projects.

  • 4th picture is what you see from a top down overview. Featured products are my 2 mismatched monitors, a LG 23in LED display, and my Dell G2410. You can also see my Logitech M560 and Razer Blackwidow sitting there on the desk.

You'll continue to get downvotes until you put up more pics, too. If you just want to catalog parts then make a parts list but don't publish it.

Had to pull it out to reverse the airflow on one of the fans so grabbed a pic with my potato S4. :) The lighting in my room is terrible!

No problem. Always remember that the more photos you have, the better! Glad you updated with a pic of the interior at least. :)

I'll grab you some once I get home today. It's actually a pretty cool desk, I grabbed it for free from a law office that was moving out and made a couple modifications to integrate my speakers and a wireless charger into the desk. Turned out pretty neat.

Your CPU cooler is backwards. You want to push the air toward rear exhaust fan or top fan.
