I only have 40 dollars in this build the rest was parts i found while working for the garbage in my town its amazing what people throw away.

Case: stock acer pentium dual core computer stripped down to nothing

Mother Board Asus board i found in garbage in ugly case opened up to see some nice parts

CPU: Athlon 2 quad core found board and cpu together

Memory: 2 2gig sticks and had 2 1 gig sticks for a total of 6gig

Video card: 512 radeon card works well

Power supply :400 watt not sure of brand been running for 5 years after i found it so its a good one

Screen: Dell 19 inch

Dell keyboard

Cheap big lots mouse and logitech laptop usb powered speakers

All and all i have about 40 dollars in this build. I gave it to my girls to do school work on after i built my new computer. Ive used it for 4 years or so and have never had a problem with it put a ssd hard drive in it after i gave it to them hope to get a few more years out of it.

I doubt it could run >3 tabs in Google Chrome or any other web browser.

Thats pretty cool. The only thing I would say if you want people to read the whole thing is to work on the formating of your post. Maybe, start every part's description on a new line or something

The title of this post had me laughing lol. I miss the financial simplicity of building older computers. This is a cool throwback to ~2005/6 era of PC's. I believe that board can also technically handle an AMD Phenom quadcore, just not anything above 95Watts. Limited but it's cool to have options to drop in there if you decide to upgrade the CPU for better mult-tasking. Great thrift build, man.
