Description

runs well. games hard for having a 960 (avg 80 fps maxed most, if not all games)

This is an update on my skycake. I think I have the first build on here with an fsp Hydro G psu. (a fantastic tier 1 psu for less than $100!!!)

I will upgrade to a high end pascal or Polaris GPU when available. I will also be adding some custom red braided cables as well.

Fallout 4 - 75 to 80 fps on ultra with godrays! @ 1080p Star Wars Battlefront - 80 to 90 fps ultra @1080p Battlefield 4 - 85 to 95 fps ultra @ 1080p CSGO - 150+ fps ultra @ 1080p

I was pleasantly surprised about the performance with the budget tier cards this season also. the 370/380 and the 950/960 ( i have used the 960 and the 380 for client builds). They are awesome cards for the cheap especially if you have a great deal on one. Great job on the build have any more candy shots with that HueHueHueHue+?

I know! I was going to get a 980 or 980ti but I don't game on my 4k so I don't need anything more. I will wait and see what next gen of gpus bring. Even though the 960 is considered a "mid range" card by enthusiasts, the performance difference isn't worth the extra $400 at the moment. I will post more hue pics today. I absolutely LOVE my HUE+, it is my favorite pc component to date!!!!!!

Im jealous of thos who have them. built with it 3 times with different profiles for each systme... just cant justify getting rid of my original Hue....

It's already justified! You must

Yay! so I see you also cashed in on the sweet $20 MIR of the FSP PSU. Hard to say no to T1 goodness for a steal of a price! Love the build, though I would highly suggest picking up some braided extensions for the GPU power to pretty things up a bit. I think those ribbon stock cables are too....rigid? at least they aren't the cruddy red/yellow/etc cables!

yeah fsp makes the base psu for several high end companies like Be Quiet. Its kick ***. Yeah I will be getting either red or white. havnt decided. what color do you think I should go with?

  • 1 point

hmm, with the LEDs and case internal being white, I would go with white cables, make them pop.

  • 1 point

yeah true. thatll make the case leds stand out.

ya, that's what I ended up doing in my build. Well I already HAD the white extensions from my old build they just happen to have found a new home in my V21 :P

also, nice vape :P that an rnx200 or dna200?

rx200, I almost got the dna, but the price gap didn't justify the features you get. I can still do all types of wire on my rda

haha, ya I just recently picked up one of the Vapor Flask Stouts for my daily driver. I don't do any fancy builds just stock Triton Claptons in my Atlantis.

Very nice looking build +1. I am also running a 2GB GTX 960 and find it is a great value card. I am wondering how you maintain such high FPS on Fallout 4, what is the lowest it drops to?

  • 1 point

Thank you. its beacause of the I7 6700k. I had an i3 6100 and I was getting about 55fps without godrays on. The skylake core strength is kickass I dunno the lowest but maybe like 68 to 70 are the lowest and highest around 95 to 100

I'm seeing a lot of these cases lately. Nothing against them, they look amazing, Just like this build.

Yeah same! Lots of "Deadpool" builds and lots of S340s. It's interesting that they're becoming popular now with all the other cool budget cases coming out. I have an S340 myself, but I get it a while ago when it was one of the few good looking budget options.

csgo rank?

I dunno I mostly play unranked and custom servers. I've been playing cs since 200 and only recently started playing ranked

i bet you would do well in csgo competitive

I would do ok. I'm comparing that to competitive levels. I usually finish top 3 in every match I play

Loving it!!!!!. Gonna get a gtx 1070 or rx480 as soon as I can but I have NO complaints about 1080p gaming maxed out!

I have overclocked, but I run at stock for now. No need for more than a 4.1ghz i7 for any game right now. To prolong its life span, I WILL regularly overclock to keep up with the times. (down the road)

the bios are pretty good. no issues, easy to use. Ive always been a huge asus fan but recently tried out a couple gigabytes and they are great!

ive had a couple sabretooth 990fx's they were GREAT! I was always an amd fanboy but if I were you I woudnt do another amd build until they come out with zen because all of their sockets are apparently "dead end" right now. There will be no upgrade path. Or go with a i5. I did and I do not regret it at all. The price diff IS worth it. I'm not here to sway you bc I love amd but I wouldn't build with amd until their new architecture.

I dunno. that would be a bad idea for amd.

Id still reccomed an i5 6600k or 6700k

I always likes amd for the price but I had to bite the bullet and I do not regret it at all!

I like them a lot. my 2nd fav would be MSI ones. I don't like ASUS or ASRock BIOS. they don't have stupid manual voltage, always that +/- offset crap :/
