EDIT: Repurposed mITX home server for mini gaming cube.
Out with: G3258 and 200mm.
In with: i7-4790k, GTX 970 and 140AF.
Whats that optical drive looking thing in the last few pictures? I really like your mini build. I plan on making one soon myself. Do you like the case? Seems roomy enough to work well.
The optical drive is a cheap little storage container that I just picked up at Frys for the heck of it. It's actually pretty neat except the gloss doesn't match the brushed look of the chassis. It's one of those push to unlatch and push to lock containers.
I absolutely love the 250D and highly recommend it to anyone. It really is a no compromise case capable of packing in a lot of full sized hardware.
Very impressive! I'd say that you did a great job with the surgical swap!
Thank you Value. I really enjoy this case.
What kind of fps fluctuations did you get with the g3258,and what kind of difference did you see with the 4790k.I am planning on changing my i5-2300 and wonder if there would be an ingame difference with the new upcoming skylake chips.
I never ran the g3258 with any real benchmarks so I can't say for sure. I only had it running as a simple minecraft server before switching to the i7. I do love the g3258 though and plan to overclock it at some point.

Yeah I set the h100i on too early without taking a photo of the i7 in the socket.
Ha! This was just a revamp of an old build that I had posted awhile back so I had the parts already. I had to delete my previous completed build in order to give it a new identity and update the part list.
BUT, I must mention that I will have 2 more builds in a couple of days. I just finished building myself a beefed up overkill machine this morning. This one has GTX 980 ti SLI. I just need to upload and edit.
The second one coming is a mATX home server since I converted my mITX server into the LAN gaming cube.
As for my supposed fat wallet, not at all! At least not anymore...
