Description

Amazon told me there weren't sending me this processor because there was some issues with the order. I said fine I thought I had cancelled it online and went up to Micro Center and bought a 6700K. A day or two later Amazon told me the 6600k I thought I canceled would be at my house in a few days. So I had already built my system with the I7 so it just sat on my desk. Once Amazone has your money, they aint picking up the phone. I like the Nano S case by Fractal so I just plotted and planned. So I spent my entire weekend going in and out of Micro Center. The Nano S is a pretty big case for a mITX but it quickly reminds you its an mITX. I tried to install that RGB lighting with the remote and the lighting pretty does what it wants to. It started out red then red and blue now its blue after playing with the wires. The remote doesnt work. The funny thing is I knew it wasnt going to work when I bought the coursed thing. This system is going do a little bit of everything for me I hope; gaming, learn some coding and scripts, 3d modeling, maybe editing, and will have all my entertainment

Part Reviews

CPU

At the time I was going to use it i did all the research good cpu

CPU Cooler

When you first turn it on the pump sounds like its leaking. really scary my system is sittins between 25 and 32c

Motherboard

Now I used this mb before and this one looks like a striped down version to me for some reason. Its the only one Micro Center carrys

Memory

Form some reason I had to have white heat spreaders. I was pretty exhausted this weekend

Storage

The one I actually I got at Micro Center cost me $55 seems to be working .

Storage

They were on sale and I got another one for my laptop

Video Card

open box gpu got it for $382. This is a huge card

Case

I like it and I hate it. That little valley they leave at the edge of the mb made it a real pain for me to get the sata connectors on.

Power Supply

1st time using it. it was the only modular one micro center had. im sitting at about 350w just surfing the net. my wifi sucks this entire weekend

Operating System

I have to give it a 5 or Bill Gates get angry. Get rid of the bload and it runs pretty smooth

Case Fan

What kind of temps are you getting with the 6600k and h105? I have a 6600k system with the same cooler that I have not put together yet due to lack of gpu and cash

Hey man, new builder here... Where did you plug your front panel connecters into? The skinny ones connected to the front buttons for power and stuff? I'm only asking you cause I have the same MOBO & Case thanks in advance

jaynj submitter 6 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

The pins should be located between the 28 pin and SATA express ports. Use causion when connecting wires those panel connectors are fragile. Your front panel audio connections are near the PCIEX 16 slot (if looking at MOBO with the slot on the bottom they should be just to the left

Alright cool thanks!

Have you had any problems with your card? I am considering one, but am a bit hesitant because of the past thermal issues

jaynj submitter 6 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

If you are referring to my 1070 FTW GPU I have 0 issues with thermals. If customers were concerned with it, you could have gotten a free order of thermal pads.

jaynj submitter 6 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

I have installed the 1070 FTW in my smaller case for my truck and the temps are still good
