This PC build is strictly gaming at 1080P for all games with all ultra settings in late 2014. So the choice would be one GTX980 combo with i7-4790K and Z97 motherboard. But after my build completed, the beginning of 2015 comes The Witcher 3 and GTA 5 which both of them push a single 980 to below-60fps limit especially for The Witcher 3. So i decided to add another GTX980 to increase the performance and maintain the 60fps-ultra-setting idea of this build.
4790K is one modest processor for gaming and streaming at the same time. There's no pressure playing The Witcher 3 at ultra setting in gaming and 60-fps streaming it with OBS(made using CPU only).
and this CPU is even capable of streaming Need for Speed Rivals at 1080p 60fps while playing it at 4k DSR 60fps with a little overlocking and without bottleneck and fps drops.
H110 combo with Air 540 suits perfect. because it's my first build. i spent 2 days reading description and thought carefully how to take fan to right direction. the in-air or the out-air. in-air makes the air flow much higher but also blow the hot air directly to the graphic cards. and it's also bring a lot of dust into the case. so i bought 4 screws to switch to the out-air direction to keep GPU cool. in the same time the CPU doesn't even heat much. when i didn't overlocking the CPU it's normally under 60 Celsius running at a usage of 80% at 27 Celsius outside, which it's really amazing compared to wind-cool fan.
decent 500Mb/s write/read speed to avoid stutter in heavy-disk-reading games like Assassin's Creed Unity and Battlefield 4.
two graphic cards are wind-cooling beasts and top card never reach 70 degree with the help of enough air flow in Air 540.
for personal taste, i like big cubic case. this case has two rooms which it's much easier to assemble the wire and separate the power supply from the motherboard. with two in-air 140 fans and one AF140 red out-air fan the air flow in the case is adequate.
about power supply i'm always serious about SeaSonic X-series. it provide stable performance for many years. and one thing about SeaSonic is that with high-quality components this power supply is able to outperformance 760W for a short of time without damage. since i didn't overlock this build much. and with GTX980 power efficient Maxwell GM240. 760W is enough for gaming without much overlocking.
good enough for games like Devil May Cry
Battlefield 3 the 100 level was achieved by this mouse. but the double click problem bugs me a lot.
