Description

I based this build on one I found on this site. I'm really not that creative myself, so I decided to copy some (or most) of the parts from this guy: http://pcpartpicker.com/b/2Wd6Mp

Since I didn't have the money to buy two GPU's and the expensive motherboard, I bought a cheaper motherboard and just one GPU.

I started out with a Thermalright AXP-100 Muscle CPU Cooler, but decided later on that I also wanted to go for the Corsair H80i liquid cooler.

I also started with 16GB RAM of the Kingston Fury white series, but the motherboard required the 2nd and 4th slot (the black one's) to be filled first. I therefore felt obliged to buy another 16GB of the Kingston Fury black series, so that the white modules could go in the white slots an the black modules in the black slots :).

I also decided to go for the BitFenix white individually sleeved cables to really finish it off.

All the HDD's and SSD's were already in my previous pc, so I didn't have to buy those. Same accounts for all the Razer stuff.

Really happy with this build, it plays all my games with ease and I like the looks of it. I'm hoping to save some money for another XFX 290 and a 4K gaming monitor in the future.

Ps. I'll try to make some good photo's soon, these were all made with my phone..

Out of curiosity, what made you want to liquid cool your "locked" cpu? Nice build, overall.

plus they also probably wanted a liquid cooler for the aesthetics than a bulky air cooler

At first I wasn't planning on overclocking anything, so I bought this CPU and a CPU cooler with fan. My previous CPU cooler didn't leave room for the first RAM module, so I wanted to replace it with another one. I decided that if I was going to replace it I might as well go for the liquid cooler because it both looks nice and cools very well.

As I don't have a 4590k I can only change the base clock speeds, so you are right that the liquid cooler is a bit of an overkill :).
