Description

Decided to upgrade my 4 year old PC. This build is used for browsing, office work, web design and occasional gaming. I wanted something that would boot fast and run fast, and still have the possibility of being upgraded in the future.

Thought about getting a video card, but at the end just decided to move the card from my old pc as it wasn't that old, GeForce GTX 560 Ti. I primarily play games on the X360, and this card still works well for a secondary gaming device. Will probably upgrade in the new year. Also moved my 1TB HDD over as well and a Razer Barracuda sound card (don't really need it, but it works so I might as well). The rest is new as below, ignore the prices in the Part List as I was able to score some nice deals:

Intel i7-3770k - $95

(Was going to get the 3550k originally, but I was able to score the 3770k for 95$ through Intel Retail Edge program, so why not?)

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - $27.99

ASRock Z77 Extreme4 - $104.99

G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB - $29.99

Intel 330 Series 180GB 2.5" SSD - $99.99

Corsair 400R ATX Mid Tower - $54.99

Corsair 650W - $79.99

============================

Total cost before taxes - $492.94 CAD

Total with taxes and fees - $617.83 CAD

This is a solid looking build. Very nice. I wouldn't worry too much about replacing that GTX 560 Ti, it can still run most games really well.

You paid around 25% of the cost in taxes and fees? Do you live on a remote island?

I noticed you totaled the price out in CAD, but most the prices seem comparable to some of the USD prices I've seen for many of these items. Guess I'm a bit curious as to what's what?

USD and CAD are usually really close in value, so the prices are usually similar.

That's true, I keep forgetting how close the rates have become.

Ahh... Sorry, I failed to read that part. XD You should upgrade to a 7950. Mad performance boost from what you've got, and I believe it runs cooler.
