Description

I wanted to build a sub 650-700 gaming machine for 2013-14 mmos (Like Tera and Blade and Soul). Did my research on this one. I worked out my OS (win7), keyboard, monitor, speakers, mic, and mouse separately. Along with an office chair and a table everything was around $950.

CPU : I'm fine with a duo core i3 since it doesn't bottleneck the R9 270.

Motherboard: Cheap, USB 3.0s and of course 1155 for the i3.

Memory : This was on a small percentage off and I grabbed it. I didn't really wait on a deal for this one.

Storage : Grabbed the samsung evo for $91, I'll get a HDD later.

GPU : It's like the old 7870 from what I've heard so I grabbed one at $180.

Case : Good space, nice red color, and cheap.

PSU : 500W Corsair, I trust it. Nothing has happened a month in.

ODrive: Cheap so I can install my OS + Burn my CDs etc.

Should have went with an amd fx 6300 build but nonetheless, not a bad build +1

I would have gone with a 2x4gb RAM setup to take advantage of dual channel, other than that, nice build!

I got too antsy on that memory card in hindsight. I forgot to pick up my sticks in pairs for the dual channel but now I should grab another 8gb stick (Overkill...)

another $20 for a 270x would've been a better option IMO.

FALSE.

With a slight overclock, the 270 gets up to 270x performance, but only uses one PCIe connector.

-1 for no internal pic, also a AMD fx cpu would have been better for the price

What can I say that hasn't already been said....nothing XD should have gone with 2x4gb to get the dual channel and the amd fx 6300 would of been a better move. I love that you chose to go for an SSD and get the HDD later, I would of done the same thing! nice build for the price :) +1
