Description

These rig was built for PAX 2016 to be displayed at the show. We collaborated Psyop Games to showcase their latest game, Moving Hazard! I created this parts list as a guideline for people who wanted to do a similar build.

The case was custom painted from our factory, along with the black sails logo in the front. The side panel uses "Glass Vinyl" to give it the appearance of being etched. Easy to install, easy to remove!

As for the parts, anyone can do better and utilize different components to suit their build. I do hope I have inspired some people here to build their own, and built it better.

If you guys wanted to see more build inspirations like this, please check out Corsair's Builder Showcase! Your build just might make it up there.

Have a great day everyone!

Meithen 2 Builds 3 points 26 months ago

Wow, great build!

I bet Corsair was happy with this!!

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 3 points 26 months ago

They sure were and a lot of our fans at the Corsair booth enjoyed it! I got a bunch of questions about it and I couldn't be happier that it was adored. :)

Angry_Plzen 3 points 26 months ago

I really wish they made this case availible for purchase, love the color scheme +1

ThugginMcMuffin 3 Builds 2 points 26 months ago

biggles5107 2 Builds 2 points 26 months ago

Someone's a Corsair fanboy :P

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 3 points 26 months ago

Seeing as how I work for Corsair and I built this for the PAX East 2016 show, I'd say so.

biggles5107 2 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Oh OK lol

brelovix 2 points 26 months ago

Gorgeous!

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Thank you!

philphaser 12 Builds 2 points 26 months ago

That MSI Lighting / MPower-Combo kicks a$$!

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 2 points 26 months ago

Sure does! I absolutely love how everything tied together!

NitroOG 2 points 26 months ago

Nice build.

NeonThought 4 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Spiffy. I think I'll be attempting that glass etching effect on my next build.

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

This is actually called Glass Vinyl. It is not etched and I wouldn't laser etch a polycarbonate side panel. Trust me.

NeonThought 4 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Yeah, I saw that. I would imagine it would splinter if you tried to sand blast it or something. Also, I saw this PC on Tek Syndicate a couple days ago. It was pretty sweet.

Jerome54 1 point 26 months ago

Wow!!!!! That's a very nice build!! :-)

One question though: why didn't you use the Hydro GFX instead of the 980Ti?
And didn't you go for the biggest Force LE available?

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

These builds were meant to have a one or two games on them. So no need for a larger Force LE. As for the video card, we partnered up with MSI to utilize their 980 Ti Lightnings!

Jerome54 2 points 26 months ago

Thanks for the reply!
OK I see. Great job then!! Too bad though... I really wanted to see that Hydro GFX in action. ;-)

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 2 points 26 months ago

Keep an eye out for my future builds. You just might get what you ask for. ;D

Jerome54 1 point 26 months ago

WOOHOO! :-D

Jerome54 1 point 26 months ago

Yes, probably. But I don't think that they pay full retail price for Corsair products...

Also, I would have painted the RAM too. ;-)

FACUNDO 13 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

BEST PICS EVER

+1

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 2 points 26 months ago

Thank you! It was done by our in-house photographer. ;)

iron_overcast 1 Build 1 point 26 months ago

love it! +1! just one question why not a gtx 980 ti sea-hawk or hydro gfx? it would go even better with the MSI and corsair theme and color scheme.

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

We partnered up with MSI to utilize their 980 Ti Lightnings!

iron_overcast 1 Build 1 point 26 months ago

Its a amazing graphics card! And a really nice build!:)

MarshmellowMan2 1 Build 1 point 26 months ago

Upside down... motherboard... mount....

Who designed this case? Why should a case ever need a weird mount for an ATX mobo? Like I could understand upside down ITX but that's about it.

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Why not? There are a small handful of reverse ATX cases out there and people buy 'em up!

MarshmellowMan2 1 Build 1 point 26 months ago

Meh. I'll go with something more normal. got my eyes on a spec alpha

TnVGaming 1 point 26 months ago

What kind of paint was used? I'm honestly thinking about buying this tower and doing a white/ silver scheme with it. This thing looks awesome!

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

It was powder coated by the factor who produces these cases. So it's a sort of one-off case.

Please do and make sure you post it online for us to see! Send it to me in a PM!

Flawed216 1 Build 1 point 21 months ago

Do you have those fans on bottom as exhaust or intake? Seems like 3 exhaust fans would be pulling more air out than than the front fans can pull through the rad and create negative pressure. Esp since the exhaust fans are AF. Just curious your experience. Thanks

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 21 months ago

These fans were placed in exhaust due to the product's visibility placement. We wanted to show off the blade design. Optimally, I would place them as an intake instead for normal usage. Also, they are SP fans.

If you have any other questions, let me know!

Flawed216 1 Build 1 point 20 months ago

Wait actually, the 3 WLED fans you have in there are SP? I thought they were high AF and the ones you used on the cooler were SP.

register929 1 point 18 months ago

Doesn't Corsair make a liquid cooled 980Ti? I wouldn't mind that painted yellow instead of an MSI card. Just opinion.

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 18 months ago

We partnered with MSI to produce the MSI "Seahawk" which is their version and the "Hydro GFX" is our (CORSAIR) version. These came out after this build was completed.

register929 1 point 18 months ago

Ah, thank you for the reply.

ItsPremiumPwnage 1 point 11 months ago

ITS UPSIDE DOWN, I DON'T LIKE THAT. SORRY FOR CAPS, CORSAIR K95 NOT WORKING.

DoubleSight 1 point 6 months ago

how is the airflow in this fan setup? positive? negative? dust status?

SamDelaney 1 point 5 months ago

I'm curious to this as I am about to install my corsair GPU watercooler and have installed it into the bottom instead of the front housing, but on this it seems to of had the front fans removed and installed on the bottom and replaced with the GPU cooler, looks very nice but is it a positive design choice?

SamDelaney 1 point 5 months ago

beautiful build

Beliall 1 point 5 months ago

Where can i get that vinyl sticker for my build?

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 5 months ago

It's a custom vinyl cut from a local shop. You'll have to come up with your own. Sorry! :(

Beliall 2 points 5 months ago

damn man, thanks for the reply though!

theMFNmaster 1 point 5 months ago

Is it just me or does the front of this thing look like a sweet refrigerator?

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 5 months ago

Just you. :p

theMFNmaster 1 point 5 months ago

Well with the Corsair liquid cooling and those fans it could be a fridge. Haha. I can’t stop looking at it though. It’s really clean man..

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 4 months ago

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the build. :)

CrimzonSlayeRx 0 points 26 months ago

TEACH ME!!!
