Description

Note: The original core system build; MB, CPU, GPU, SSD, PSU, RAM, Case and OS was around $800

Update 1/13/2016: A new power supply is going to be moved up as an upgrade as suggested by user biggle5107. After several hours of Fallout 4 gaming overclocked I received a BSOD and "whea_uncorrectable_error." This is direct from the CPU and relates to voltage regulation problems. So my assumption is the voltage coming from the PSU isn't stable enough. This only happens once and a blue moon, but would feel better with a different power supply. Looking at the RMx series from Corsair or the G2 series from EVGA as suggested by user JAShadic.

This is my first build. I completed the main system back in September of 2015 but recent added some upgrades such as the H100i and new peripherals just before Christmas 2015.

Back in the day my high school chemistry teacher made us promise our first child will be called Arrhenius, so I decided to follow through with my promise and this is my child Arrhenius.

I mainly use this system for school work while I am college and some casual gaming. All games are running at high/ultra setting on 1080p with 50-60+ FPS. Eventually looking at upgrading the GPU once I get a higher resolution monitor but for only playing games on the weekends it does great.

Also will be getting some red cable extensions in the coming months. Not a fan of the rainbow cables.

The motherboard is okay. I considerate it just above serviceable. One of the MB heat sinks has started to change color. Only explanation I can think of is the heat caused a color shift. But I got it on sale so I can't really argue with that.

Some coming soon upgrades are the addition of the Schiit Stack this March and some new speakers hopefully by the end of this year.

The first internal part upgrade will likely be a move to all solid state storage then upgrade the GPU which will require a PSU upgrade as well.

Would love any feeback as well!

TL;DR Here is my computer. It does computery things. Enjoy.

What can I say, I like to live life on the edge.

:D It just shocked me as the bag is conductive, safe to build on but can short out the PC when powered on over the bag. But apart from that, nice build

As far as I know the inside of the bag is but not the outside? At least I'm assuming but now that I think about it probably won't do that again. Thanks!

The bag is the same on the inside and outside in almost all cases and it's still conductive but at the same time your finger is more conductive. I'm not sure how long or how often damage can be caused but it's better safe than sorry... :)

H+ = Acid ions

OH- = Base ions

Svante Arrhenius = Swedish guy who created all of this.

I completely understand!!! (And the thing is, we learned that literally this week.) Keep living life on the edge man :)

+1

Love your tl;dr lol. Not a fan of that PSU though...might want to replace that if you want to do serious overclocking.

I'll get a new one when I upgrade my GPU. I haven't had a problem with it at all my power draw isn't even close to 500W so that's probably why. Any PSU suggestions for future reference?
