Description

Made this as an audio workstation, with capability to play games, whilst keeping the price low. The CPU is said to have poor temperature problems, so I added on from arctic cooling.

From what I've tested so far: Temperature is at 32(C) When Idle Runs Crysis 3 Medium graphics fairly well Runs Alice: Madness Returns perfectly Runs Space Engine really well and renders the planets surfaces pretty quickly After a stress test the max temperature I got was 55(C)

Overall I'm pretty happy with my build, I think for the price it exceeded my expectations!

Great price and great build, in the future, you might consider upgrading to something like a R9 270x GPU. I run this processor in a similar set up and it runs great. If you want to take a look a my build you can get some ideas for future upgrades. Excellent job with the budget!

Another thing that you might consider in the future is the possibility of OCing the 760K and maybe putting a hyper 212 evo or some other aftermarket cooler. The great thing about your PC is it has great potential to grow!!

I actually planned on upgrading the graphics card in the future to something with a bit more punch, and the R9 270x would have probably been my first choice. I've been thinking of pushing the CPU further, I think I'll research into overclocking first (I know how to do it, but I'm no expert).

Thanks for the upgrade advice though!

There's a plethora of information available across the web on overclocking but the new AMD CPU driver suite has an auto-tune overclock in the mean time if you want to boost performance.

There is also this thread of people using the same/similar CPUs posting their results and specs so you can see what cooler might improve your performance most http://www.overclock.net/t/1404334/amd-athlon-x2-340-370-and-athlon-x4-740-750k-760k-be-owners-club

Do audio programmes benefit from high frequency RAM?

Not hugely, as DAW's aren't exactly intensive applications, the only reason I have that RAM is because it went on sale for about the same price as some 1600MHz I was gonna get

It does the job for now :P I never actually looked into a comparison between those two, I probably should have!
