Description

Upgraded my old AMD build with new case fans, an upgraded CPU cooler, extra RAM and a motherboard that isn't complete trash. I had a little trouble getting the build stable but nothing a clean install of Win10 couldn't fix. So far it's fixed the issue of my computer randomly freezing up and then returning back to normal after a minute as if it never happened and it's much more responsive. So far I am very happy with this build. Been awhile since I last updated. I got a new keyboard/mouse. Invested in a decent speaker system even though I rarely use it. Having the upgraded CPU cooler is a huge help. I don't find myself overclocking this build but it keeps my system well below the temps I like to see it at. Having the new widescreen monitor is fantastic for graphic design and video editing. In-game, it gives me a few more inches in my peripheral. Definitely recommend this build to first-time users who are diehard AMD fans (good luck finding a 6970)

Parts list looks very nice, although I will say I think you got ripped off on your power supply, for my current build I'm using a semi modular 750 watt bronze I got from Amazon for 49.99, I highly suggest not using pcpartpicker for your psu just for this reason, and could I ask why you prefer amd over Intel? Do you do a lot more multitasking rather than having 1-3 applications open at a time?

What brand of psu is it? I liked having a strictly AMD build when I first built it but it helps having more cores when I want to do several things at the same time. I plan on moving to an intel/nvidia build next PC I build because of power consumption and oc capabilities.

Very nice build. AMD has a lot of cores, but Intel has more powerful cores. It's not just overclocking and compatibility. But it's good you're using an AMD processor now 'cause we both know how damn expensive Intel CPUs are.

I'll have to check when I get home, I can't remember off the top of my head, I do know it is a well known and credible brand though
