Description

This is my first build. I've always been a bit gun shy and bought prebuilts from tiger direct, ibuypower, etc. This time I bit the bullet and slapped this bad boy together myself. Was very fun. Glad I did it.

Built strictly for high end gaming and I'm loving it so far. Must've gotten a crappy haswell running 4.4GHz with vcore 1.3 but stays pretty cool with the kraken. Highest I've gotten so far under load 57 degrees. Can't complain too much there.

Got a decent gpu as well it seems not too shabby of an overclock, definitely seen better though.

Removed the hdd cages and mounted the radiator in the front of the case. Actually did a little engineering and have my hdd in the 2nd 5.25" drive bay. With the ssd mounted behind the motherboard.

Only real complaint was mounting the cooler. Was a huge pain in the ***!! The bracket doesn't fit perfectly so I had to do a bit of working to get it to mount/seat correctly but she cools like a champ.

Overall very happy and definitely looking forward to the next one!

Didn't run 3DMark 11 but ran Firestrike quite a bit. Definitely over 9000!!!! Satisfied with it for sure.

Questions/comments/critiques all welcome, I know I could've done a better job with the cables I was just so glad to have it done. Thanks for checking it out!

One of the best color themes I have seen yet. Plus good parts to go along. +1

You've seen better than a 780? What did you have before, a 690 or a Titan?

He's talking about the overclock itself, not the gpu.

Yep Bones96 got it. I was meaning the clock speed not the actual card.

Nice temps on that overclock.

Thanks! That cooler really is a beast! Kinda loud on extreme mode but silent is extremely quiet obviously sacrificing on the cooling power.

Been seeing a lot of red and black color themes lately and only a few caught my eye and this is one of 'em. Great build.

Yeah it is one of the easier combo's to pull off I think. Seems like a bunch of the high end parts are red/black. Maybe next time I'll try a more obscure combo. Thanks for the comment!

This build needs to be upvoted just because of the awesome color coordination.

The monitor he got actually gets a lot of good reviews also. On top of that its better priced than the Benq monitor.

Thanks for the comment. I actually looked at the monitor but I was originally aiming for $2000 budget (that I totally overshot) but that would've put me way over.

Is the case really quiet?

I am using the same case with four 140mm fans. I run the fan controller at the mid setting (7 volts) and it is real quiet.

Yep it's nearly silent. Definitely gets louder if I put the kraken on extreme but in silent mode it truly is silent.

Now there's a system I would be proud to own and show off to others. Great job!

I know it still looks great and runs well but why not the asus or the msi 780 to go with the color scheme?

I thought long and hard about it. Evga is well renowned for their outstanding support and customer service. Hoping I won't need it though lol. I know this might sound dumb but the back plate availability pushed me over the edge.

Yeah EVGA has the best customer support but the Asus comes with a backplate already installed.

Did not know that, thanks.

im working on my first gaming pc, if anyone can help me out to make it a really good one that will run 1080p games with no problem so basically stuff like black ops 2, cod ghost, gta, minecraft and record them all with no problem and a decent mouse and keyboard +webcam and the monitor should be built in audio system and i want a nice headset what i will be able to use as an advantage, i've been thinking of becoming a youtuber for ages and it's getting to christmas and my parents say i can make a custom or just buy a full gaming computer, but any help would be amazing, thanks

I didn't even notice! Looks like the hoses from the cooler were pushing down on the card I've since raised those up and off. Thank you for noticing and the comment!
