PART LIST WITH UPDATING PRICE

Temps got while playing GTA V max 1080p

The Second build I have uploaded to PcPP

Ok so a quick description now that i'm not so tired, so after one day of use I am really happy and amazed with the performance, the 1700x over my very old 6300 is amazing as to be expected but it still amazed me

And now at least I dont have to deal with the extreme bottleneck, granted before it wasent an extreme amount as my games still ran fine but now at least the GPU can be used completely

Also with the RAM I dont know how I always manage to mess up on RAM i only have 16GB which yes is enough, but still I would like 32, but its fine for now, not going to update the list though cause il eventually get the set I wanted

Also if this helped any of you make sure to say it, YES the 212 EVO and X fit in the SPEC ALPHA just fine AS LONG as the CPU is over the bulge in the side pannel but even then it might still fit

And one last thing that little "NEEDED" AM4 upgrade bracket at least for me was completely USELESS as it wouldn't even screw in and the AM3 bracket fit just fine and screwed in straight, Yes it was only 5 bucks but that's 5 bucks I don't have now.

and I know alot of you are going to as about the cooler the only reason I installed it like that is because I couldn't fit the other fan on with the RAM, if your curious it pulls cold from top and ejects it onto the GPU backplate but cause the airflow it dosent hit it ad it gets sucked out the back of the case, and the air from the front also goes through the fins and keeps the 1700x surprisingly cool.

U P D A T E S

(I will add more pics when I get home, thanks for reading)

2 / 28 / 18 5:21 PM
no new pictures yet as I am having to reinstall windows cause its being stupid, but hey clean install will be nice cause Iv never had a clean install since 2010 on the old seagate drive

3 / 1 / 18 8:00 PM
its been a few days since the last update and thats because the windows reinstall deleted alot of my stuff my OLD stuff and I couldent back it up cause AMD Overdrive was causing a BSOD with one of its SYS files so pretty much I lost everything important on my system, I have all my games and stuff like that, but Pictures are gone, Memories are gone from my first days as a PC Builder.

3 / 1 / 18 11:57 PM
So I did a bit of overclocking on the GPU might do more later, also updated the clocks on here, if you wondering old clocks were stock.

3 / 4 / 18 5:17 PM
Finally added more pictures, not much more to look at, but now that I finally have windows updated i'm going to hopefully upload benchmarks soon (If I dont forget about that to ;) )

3 / 5 / 18 9:50 AM Not an actual PC upgrade but I was on twitter and noticed Ryzen turned 1 year old on the 2ed, so happy birthday Ryzen!

3 / 10 / 18 5:24 PM
welp my cheap Chinese headphones have finally died after 2 years, more of my problem the way I put them on my monitor though cord was broke and I kept forgetting to put tape so the actually line inside the cable finally snapped from all the bending, they will be missed, lol, But I know know to put them the other way so the cord dosent bend like that

3 / 11 / 18 5:26 AM
Well I mostly fixed my headset and it dosent stay cut out but it just randomly happens now so I went on amazon and bought a Corsair Void Pro that was on sale for like 50 or 60 so that should be here like Monday hopefully

Part Reviews

CPU

Love this CPU to death only had it one day and its great

CPU Cooler

Bought this on 10/7/17 still running great and cooling greater

Thermal Compound

Great thermal paste, not much more to say

Motherboard

Great motherboard, I did have a slight problem with the BIOS update, that and the first bios not recognize windows, thank god for Dual BIOS

Buts just as a side not I absolutely HATE the I/O Shield why the hell does it have to be shiny, just make it a nice black, so i'm 99.9% sure i'm going to paint that I/O Shield

Memory

Amazing memory and XMP makes it run at 3200Mhz no problem

Storage

I don't really have to write much of a review this nowadays is a pretty cheap, common and reliable drive.

Storage

Great storage, great price and great company I love WD drives they are very reliable.

Storage

Old drive I got out of my first PC A Gateway DX4860-UB32P back in like 2010 or 12 and it's still running strong just doesn't have a lot of storage.

(PS this was that PC https://www.amazon.com/Gateway-DX4860-UB32P-i3-2120-Dual-Core-Wireless-N/dp/B008OJ2ZKW Except it was like $600 aka a very large ripoff)

Video Card

Still running strong after 2 Years and I have not noticed any problems aside from the gigabyte logo which is still in rainbow cause the software never recognized it, but it dosent look that bad

Power Supply

I still recommend this power supply for the price, granted since I bought it it has risen in price to like 100 so nowadays you could probably find something alot better for the money, but that can be said about alot of things after the recent "Crisis"

Operating System

Its grown on me alot more, and I definitely DONT miss 8 or 8.1, but hey at least they wernt forced and they didn't spy on you, but they also wernt free

Keyboard

Man I absolutely LOVE this keyboard, I realy missed my original after RMAing it back, but this one is so much BETTER, I do really miss my 18 macro keys though, lol.

Other

Waste of 5 dollars didn't fit with the install kit and nor was it needed the AM3 bracket fit just fine on my 212x and at least it actually screwed down

what is that second graphics card there for?

Yognaught_Ace submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

I put my old 950 in there cause im running out of shelf space lol

Yognaught_Ace submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

and also if PhysX ever becomes popular but it never really caught on it does help in games like borderlands and metro though

Otterman366 10 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

or cuda acceleration in video rendering if you're into that sort of thing

Yognaught_Ace submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

good point

three8one 3 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

Did you try to use it for PhysX yet to see if it made any difference? I'm thinking of buying a used GTX 650 or something similar to handle PhysX. Would it be worth it?

Yognaught_Ace submitter 2 Builds 2 points 8 months ago

Personally I noticed a fps increase of like 8-15fps kinda broad ik but its been a while but it took a ton of load of my main gpu

three8one 3 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

Thanks for the info! I finally got some answers from a hardware vendor and I might upgrade to either a 1080 or 1080ti soon though, so maybe a secondary 650 would be overkill at that point...

Yognaught_Ace submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

Yeah, at the point of somthing like a 1080 or 1080ti I don't really think it needs it, its fast enough on its own, but hey less load on the main GPU is still less load

blizz7 1 point 8 months ago

Wait wot a 500gb hdd you bought costs almost the same as a 3 tb drive? Calm down man just get an ssd for that money or something

blizz7 1 point 8 months ago

and why 5400 rpm

Yognaught_Ace submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

it was from ripped from my first PC back in 2010, only piece that I still have from that PC

blizz7 1 point 8 months ago

ah

Yognaught_Ace submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

I have to hand it to seagate though for a boot drive that is filled to capacity and running for almost 8 years now 24/7 its doing really good but its sadly starting to show the signs of a dying HDD

skulic.amir 1 point 8 months ago

You should have got dual channel memory zen cpu's benefit off fast memory and dual channel instead of quad channel memory,

Yognaught_Ace submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

its fine, iv noticed a gain between dual over quad before but nothing I ever cared about a ton, and lets be honest here my old FX-6300 was do an upgrade no matter how small lol

MichealJoeden 1 point 8 months ago

What do you use the 4.5 tb for?

Yognaught_Ace submitter 2 Builds 1 point 8 months ago

Mostly games, 3d models and music
