Description

Hi, This was my first build and it was a blast. Used for gaming, every part here went beyond my expectations after using a dell prebuilt for years. The only small issue I had was when putting the GPU in, it didn't line up right with the expansion slots, but since it was ~1mm off I just forced it a bit. Does anyone have a good name for this? Thanks :D

More pics soon!

Part Reviews

CPU

No issues, wanted a quad core intel cheap that didn't need overclocking.

Memory

Meant to buy 2x4, but the accidental buy could turn this into a 32GB editing beast once the GPU is outdated!

Storage

My first SSD, wish I got a bigger one but it is awesome.

Storage

Haven't tested much but no issues.

Video Card

Ah the GPU, what really counts. It's giant, beautiful, quiet, and fast. The backplate is stunning, the fans are efficient, I ran every game so far at ultra 900p over 60fps. GET THIS.

Case

Made my non modular PSU unnoticeable. LOVE IT!

Power Supply

Wish I went modular but does what it says.

Operating System

I didn't wanna get a virus trying to get it free, developers deserve support.

Wireless Network Adapter

Hope I get ethernet soon but until now this keeps me connected.

Case Fan

Not silent by any means, I got 3 for style.

Nice rationale! How is Win10? And what is your monitor?

I like 10, very simple. Monitor is just some dell 900p 60hz thing i got a couple years ago cheap, don't know the model.

What games are you playing and how do they run? How are your boot-times with the ssd? Do you think that cpu will be outdated soon or will it keep up with games for a while?

Im wondering because i have been look at the same gpu, cpu, and the ssd for a while and i would like to know how they do in a gaming system like yours? Thank you in advance :)

I have run CS:GO, Assetto Corsa, Insurgency, and Grid 2 so far. Everything passed 60fps on high. Hoping to test project cars, and BF4 soon. Boots in under 10 seconds without fast boot. I honestly can't imagine the CPU being too outdated soon, it should last 4 years or so if accompanied with a good GPU, gaming shouldn't punish it anyway. Hope this helps!

Update: Dirt Rally and Project CARS don't drop under 50 fps when maxed except for Anti Aliasing.

Lol, just noticed I'm getting a really similar build to you! Only difference is RAM, No SSD, and a bigger power supply!

Haha awesome! I haven't had any issues with mine, but consider going modular. The back of mine is a spider's web!

Are you having any wattage problems? I'm gonna build a PC very similar to yours (using the same r9 380) and am curious if 550w is enough.
