Description

This is my first gaming build and was notoriously saved up to with only getting ten dollars a week (I'm 12). It runs pretty well and can surprisingly average 30-50fps on Battlefield 4 1080p Medium. My headphones are some type of Sennheiser. I've got a LG Flatron E2411. I'm not thinking of overclocking yet but the reason I got a hyper 212x was because here in Australia it gets very, very hot and I need some good cooling to back the cpu up. I'm very proud of this build and don't say I'm spoiled because I worked my butt off to get this money and I'm very satisfied and happy it worked. The first time I plugged it in and pushed the power button it did not turn off and this was because the power switch on the PSU wasn't on.

"only ten dollars a week" I don't get any money Idk what you are talking about XD

Thank you! After all the talk about 212 being too tall for the spec case, there's proof that it's not. Also you showed impressive self-control, I would've never been able to save up so much money, especially when I were twelve. Good job!

If you want to upgrade anytime soon a gtx 950 or a amd 380/380x(4gb) is a good idea. Great build! Hows the psu?

what kind of entitled **** you must be if you get 2150 from 2 christmas and a birthday, thats roughly $700 cash each time.

Man, I respect you a lot. Until recently I haven't even seen that much money lol

The build is nice, but I'd get a different psu. Corsair builder series is okay for a medium build, but the capacitors aren't high quality, so you want a gold sertified psu. Also I wouldn't buy that particular mouse/keyboard combo, as the sensor in the mouse can be better and the letters are quite unreadable without the lighting on. You can get a cheaper motherboard and ram, because they don't affect the framerate that much. People usually just get 1600Mhz ram, the performance is practically the same. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DCcYhM

Hows the mobo? Thinking about that one for a client.

Do you notice any stuttering in games with your Pentium G3258?

  • 1 point

The G3258 should do fine for most games which are still mostly single threaded.

  • 1 point

yeah but he mentioned using battlefield 4 for his pc which does perform better on multi cored cpu s.

  • 1 point

Right. I've seen many conflicting reports of whether or not the G3258 has such problems so I figured the best way to find out is to directly ask the owners themselves.

Despite the speculation it performed better than I thought.

Um maybe a little, but it is a dual so I'm not surprised, of course I will upgrade to an i5 maybe?? Bf4 mainly the shuddering but in only intense scenes in multiplayer :)

Thanks for the update

My eight threaded processor even uses all eight threads when playing BF4...I am surprised that dual core can hold up that well in such a cpu intensive game.

TEN DOLLARS A WEEK?! That's very impressive. Good build, good job.

Thanks for the support and complements. Bf4 1080p around 50fps at 150% scaling.but the cpu does sometimes shudder (dual core)

Are you planning to get a better graphics card?

  • 1 point

Yeah certainly, but 8gb of ram the first upgrade tho

Well later on its so expensive to upgrade to a r9 or gtx 760???? Any tips to get one cheap or quick.

Should of used stock cooler, you can still overclock impressively, and put the money into better gpu

  • 1 point

Pentium G3258 when overclocked on 4.2 Ghz(stock cooler)is on par with lower tier i3s. This is the best budget CPU that there is today.

In the "future" when you save enough money you can switch to i5 4690k add more RAM, Upgrade to SSD.

For now +1 for the build.

Okay, thanks for the advice, that was mainly what I wanted to upgrade next. Probably get an ssd (240Gb) and put os and main games on it. Then ram because the cpu I have now is good enough for what I do and does surprisingly good in battlefield 4. But anyways thanks

1080p

Why did you get an H97 mono for the CPU you have man? You could've overclocked that baby to the max. But you probably didn't want to OC anyway so.

I am about to build a PC with almost the SAME EXACT PARTS! And I am 12 and I am earning $20 a week! Man, this is what I was looking for.

I'm thinking about trying out the same power supply after reading a few tech reviews. How has it held up? Any issues? There has not been a lot of consumer reviews yet.

It's great, no issues so far from what I see

upgrade that cpu

Why? it's sufficient for that GPU, well I guess it could've been better
