Description

February 18th- This will be my gaming build till its time for college , bought the original hp mostly barebones system from my neighbor for 10 bucks. I upgraded the x5650's to x5670's , got a 480 , a 500 gb HDD and a wifi dongle, for the record i should have gotten a HD 7990 because i saw it on ebay for 180 , i have a 1150 w PSU so i do not worry about power consumption that much. Sorry for the knobjob of cable management did'nt rally have a place to put the literal 3 ft of wire in between the cpu coolers and gpu. Keep in mind the ram only actually costed me 80 bucks but it is the same kind of ram and i thought i put it there to show people.

May 29th- New cooling fans and another HDD for expansion, might get a pair of x5690's in the near future.

Part Reviews

Video Card

Awesome card for what i wanted to do, sadly could'nt unlock most of its ocing potential due to the stock hp motherboard not really supporting farther then Ive gotten, has a bit of coil whine though when at upper fan speeds.

Operating System

i hate windows 10 but i might as well upgrade since more support.

Wireless Network Adapter

DId its job , sometimes disconnects me randomely and ill have to plug it back in and out but it does its job.

Keyboard

Cheap, but is comfortable and does its job flawlessly.

If anyone notices those cutouts on the ram fan cage, its because those had a spike indent that was designed for the original fans but interfered with the intake fans and ram fans ability to spin so i took wire cutters and just cut them off.

There was really no reason to upgrade the X5650s to X5670s. They are near identical, the only difference is that they are clocked 300MHz higher than the X5650s. Should've saved the money and bought something like a GTX 1070 and then bought the X5690s. I doubt you'd see any real world performance gain.

Other than that, great job. +1.
