I named this build gastly because it is one of my favorite pokemon.
This is the 3rd iteration of my pc. You can say it's... evolving! I use this pc mainly to play games but maybe planning on doing video editing .
My hobbies mainly including messing with my pc and custom water cooling so that is why my pc has so many iterations.
I also bought a switch and changed out the back and the controllers to the classic Nintendo clear purple.
Main troubles and changes with this build
- Gigabyte x99 board.
Had a lot of issues with the bios of their board. I tried reflashing, resetting, downgrading and upgrading but nothing seem to fix it so I went with asus strix x99 mobo.
- Primo Chill Vue
So I was an early adopter of the vue. Long story short after a week, a white residue buildup appeared in my cpu block and eventually the vue clogged it up. I won't put all the blame on primochill though as I did have a small amount of distilled water left in the loop but at the time, the instructions didn't mention anything about the loop being completely dry.
- The Case
Even though I love the layout of the case (especially the removable radiator tray), the back of the case has barely any room for cable management. I will be however upgrading to a case that I will kill keep for years to come; the Corsair Obsidian 500d special edition (whenever that comes out).
- Thermaltake Riing Fans (The software).
Despite the hurdles, I had a lot of
frustration fun building this pc and I hope you all enjoy this as well!
If you have any questions about anything you see, please ask away!
PS. The last picture is a headphone stand I made for my desk at work from the extra parts I had left from my other build.
Great case for most builds!
Ole' reliable. Had this power supply for 4 years so far. I still have 6 more years in warranty
144 gysync. Nuff said.
