Description

So this is my 2nd build ever. I have been out of the loop for near 10 years. My last build consisted of a 3.2 Pentium 4 HT with an ATI 9800XT which was top of the range at the time...

Things have changed so much since then so I spent 6 months getting up to speed and researching all the parts for my next build. I decided to wait a while when I knew Haswell was coming out along with a new socket / Motherboards, better performance as well as the new range of NVIDIA cards.

The idea behind this was to have something I could work / play with which would last me many years. I also wanted something relatively quiet hence the case choice and other parts. I went predominantly with ASUS / Corsair parts as both manufacturers provide top quality components and excellent warranties (Motherboard good for 5 years!).

Really pleased with the results, my GTX 780 chews through everything available while the system as a whole stays cool and quiet.

I haven't over clocked yet but will do soon and will update this post along with results.

I like how you contrasted the black with the black, it really makes the black pop!

LOL !

I guess that is why it is a silent machine and not one with a window. I must say, great parts and well put together.

Lol, yer well it is called 'Dark Tower' I guess i should have put more emphasis on 'Dark'! If you open up the side panel and tilt your head under the components you get a flash of red on the PSU and GPU shroud.. But that's about it.. :)

Very nice, just WOW. FYI did you know Corsair makes SSDs? And did you know Asus makes optical drives and monitors, since you wanted to stay primarily Asus and Corsair. Still F-ing awesome build.

Thanks! Yeah I knew Corsair makes SSDs but I managed to get that Samsung SSD on sale so I went for that. Initally I wanted an OCZ Vector series SSD as I read that they are pretty much top dog in the SSD market, but you have to pay out big for it!

I dislike Corsair CLC's. They aren't the highest quality.

So....what is the highest quality? Pretty sure the majority of these CLC are made by one OEM company, Asetek
