Description

This computer is used to browse the interwebs, C#, Java, Android, OpenGL development, and of course, gaming. It's also used to heat the room and slaughter the electric bill. This computer is about 2 or 3 years old, but has been upgraded a lot along the way.

Everything runs pretty well. I wish more games supported 3-way crossfire, but I have no regrets. Two of the video cards are Sapphire, and one is XFX. I didn't want to mix-match them, but a third Sapphire was too large. The Sapphires stay pretty cool, but the XFX... that's another story. I had to remove the bottom video card's back plate to allow the XFX to breathe.

Performance(2560x1440 Ultra)

Far Cry 4: 75-120 FPS GTA 5: 60-95 FPS Witcher 3: 60-85 FPS Borderlands 2: 100+ FPS Tomb Raider: 120-180 FPS

Benchmarks:

Fire Strike: 22,095 Fire Strike Extreme: 10,944 Fire Strike Ultra: 6,977

+1 For the 390 CF.

Honestly I like this better, anyone asking why you didn't wait for next gen GPU can shut up and look at them pics once more...

Thank you, I completely agree. I also don't really have the patience to wait for the new generation... especially at the time I bought them.

Nice!! That's the first time I've seen 3 390s! +1

Ridiculously over-the-top, I love it! +1

Incredible build. Quick question though: Why don't you put the XFX on the bottom lane? It would be allowed to breathe, and the overhang of the Sapphire would allow it to breathe more than the XFX where it currently is.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I think you should be able to do that.

Anyway, great job. ++1

Unfortunately, the cooler on the Sapphire cards is too large to fit in the middle.

Ah, I see. That is really unfortunate.

any plans to water cool them?

even with the backplate removed

the middle GPU is suffering from lack of cool air to breath

you could add a fan right in front of the 3 GPUs but it can only bring down the temps by 2-3 degrees

I'm probably going to throw a 200mm fan I have lying around on them. I don't think I could fit a water cooling loop in the case.

ah i can see the case is kinda small

I too want to go watercooling but the CoolerMaster 935 stacker is no longer in production

If only the MoBo had consistent spacing inbetween the x16 slots, would make this build look a little more crisp :)

But 3 x 390's is mental, do you know what your power draw is max load?

Also what sort of frame rates are you getting in games you play (That support 3 way CF)

You have my +1 for the outrageous (Non water cooled) 3 way Cross fire setup :P

Added note: I also really like the image of your GPU's lined up showing the progression of your PC glory over the years :)

Evenly spaced PCI slots would make life so much easier. The idle power draw is roughly 150 W and 1100 W under load.

I'll add some more information as to how it runs in the description.

Phew that is some hefty power draw, thought you might be pushing that 1300W pretty close to its limit. But 200 Watt headroom seems algood :)

Looking forward to more information, this build is really interesting.

I appreciate your interest! I've updated the description with some benchmarks.

I have to be careful about what I plug into its circuit. I've tripped the circuit breaker a few times.

psst, are you willing to sell those other used parts ?

I thought about selling some of them, but I do have some ideas as to how to put them to use.

Quick question. Did the case come with the side panel window. All the other pictures of it I look at don't have the side panel.

It did come with the window. There's a variation with a window and one with mesh.
