Description

This was my first build. I usually buy an off the shelf box with the best processor I can afford and then upgrade PSU and GPU. I finally decided I was tired of dealing with air flow issues and the cost of off the shelf units had grown so high that was not a cost effective option anymore. I tried to keep this simple yet powerful I do not see me ever over clocking so the additional cost of a K CPU and the required MB was something I felt could be better spent on GPU. I really liked the looks of this case and I wanted to be as cost effective as possible. I will be adding some more fans and possibly changing the CPU cooler in the future. I was not sure which way to go with those options as I needed to see how everything fit in the case. I had looked at the 212 cooler but for not much more money I could get a Corsair H55 and keep the interior cleaner and more open. I will probably add two more fans as well with one in the front and the other at the top. I think it turned out pretty well for a first build and the cost was not too bad given I had to buy an OS as well.

Update: I decided it was time for a new monitor and only recently learned about the Korean 1440p units. I could not resist giving it a whirl so I ordered one. I placed the order late on Thursday and it was on my porch on Monday. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it USPS.

I like the way you pick the part.. quite enough for all current games with 970.. sometime myself also have build overkill system performance for self satisfied, but waste money..

Hey,

What cooling system did you use?

Currently I am using the stock cooler. I wanted to get everything in the case and see what sort of room I had to work with.I really do not like the space taken up by a air cooled radiator so I am leaning towards a Corsair H55 or H60. I will have to replace my ram though as the Vengeance ram is too tall to fit a fan in the top of the case. With the cooler mounting at the rear I really feel the need to have an exhaust fan at the top to replace the exhaust lost at the rear.
